Mr, & Mrs. Will Oestricher attended the funeral of Mr. Vernon Franks in St. James Anglican Church, London, Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon they were guests at the Cole-Graham wedding at Wesley Knox. United Church, London. Rev. & Mrs. Bruce Pierce and Rev. Mr. & Mrs. Vernon Beaver, Pittsburgh, guests of Gertrude Beaver, Exeter, called on friends and relatives in the area last week. Relatives and friends of the Crediton district were saddened by the tragic death of six-year- old Jeffrey Dick, London, killed in a traffic accident, Mary Ellen Schlenker, Linda Pierce, Mark Schwartz and Mark Warren attended a weekend retreat at Belfountain. The retreat was sponsored by the Scripture Union Holiday Club. A meeting of the Youth Group in Zion United Church worship was in charge of Barbara Ratz and Mary Ellen Schlenker. Barbara conducted a Bible quiz. Mary Ellen read a modern ac- count of the Prodigal Son. Lunch was provided by Dianne Wilds and Larry Lippert. Flowers in Zion United Church Sunday morning were from the funeral services of Karl Guen- ther, Shipka and Art Attfield, Exeter. Sunday evening Rev. & Mrs. Bruce Pierce, Michael and Howard, Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Lamport, Mrs. Ed Finkbeiner and Mrs. Link, Exeter, were at the People's Church, Willowdale, to hear Evangelist Bob Harrington. Special music at the service was provided by the Watchmen of Kitchener. Moses Gaiser, Kitchener, son of the late Godfrey Gaiser, was in Crediton for the funeral of Karl Guenther Thursday and called on people he remembered from his boyhood days. Chester Mawhinney has been admitted to Huronview. A christening ceremony was conducted Sunday by Rev. Ralph at St. Marys Anglican Church, Brinsley for Dennis Glenn, son of Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Hodgins. Mr. & Mrs, Joe Hodgins, RR 8 Parkhill were godparents. I
