Monday evening, September
15, the Ailsa Craig girls suc-
ceeded in downing the Clan-
deboye team with a score of 29 to
i8 at 1,,noan.
In the semi-finals Alba Craig
had defeated Nairn while
Claricieboye topped Denfield.
There were nine teams in all in
the league.
Harold Guilfoyle and Doug
McNair had again acted as
coaches for the team.
Elaine McNair and Sherri
Pickering were the team's pit-
chers, and Mary Robinson played
catcher. Linda Wasnidge held
first base, Sandra Heaman and
Margie Luther second base, and
Shirley Hodgson and Karen
(Turnbull) Smeekens played
third base. Marilyn Doerr and
Cindy Marshall were in left field
and Shirley Luther was in right
field with Debra (Kennedy) Hem
acting as short stop. Lora Lee
Stewart held centre field,
The trophy, originally donated
by 1..4, J. McGee of Parkhill, is
preg6ntly on display at
Craighohne Nursing Home and
will 'shortly be returned to
McNair's Snack Bar and Grocery
on Main Street.

The main topics of discussion
were wornens- role, how men see
women and possible revisions in
the legislation.

Sunday, September 21, marked
another milestone in the life of
the congregation of the Ailsa
Craig Baptist Church. Special
services were held com-
memorating one hundred and
four yars of Life of the
congregation.
The Rev. Douglas Ropp of
Chesley was the guest speaker
for the morning and evening
services.
"Are you satisfied with your
Christian Efe?", he immediately
asked the congregation. Taking
his text from 1 Cor. chapter 2, he
challenged his listeners to look
hard at their lives.
In the evening sermon he again
questioned his audience, "Have
you said anything about Jesus
lately?" This time using I. Peter
as his basis, he spoke of the
spiritual value of "gossiping", or
talking to others about the love of
Jesus and what the Lord is doing.
He warned of the deadliness of
Eastern Star at
Royal York. Hotel
Members of the Exeter
Chapter No, 222, Order of the
Eastern Star attended the
Diamond Jubilee Session of the
Grand Chapter of Ontario held in
the Royal York Hotel, Toronto, on
September 16 to 19.
Attending were Mrs. Robert
Hamilton, Mrs. Bernice Boyle,
Mrs. Dorothy Bell, Mrs,Alice
May, Mrs. Freida Bierling and
MrS. Ella Middleton.
Corp. Lawrence J. Otis of
Greenwood Nova Scotia has
returned to his base after a
month's holiday spent with his
mother Mrs. Pat Otis and
grandmother Mrs. Lloyd Johns of
Exeter.

visiting the formers brother and
sister-in-laW, L. V. Hogarth and

Cudney, opened the service and
welcomed the congregation. It
was announced that Mr. Ropp
and the MacDonald family
frequently work together, and
are actively engaged in T.V.
programs which will be viewed
over C.K.N.X.-T.V., Channel 8,
Wingham, on November 1 and
again on November 28 as well as
a special Christmas program to
be televised on Christmas eve.
There was a good attendanct at
