Lewis, Mrs. V, Scharf of London en- tertained fourteen friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs, Dan Rogers, celebiating Dan's bir- thday, Mrs. Joan Leger and Karen were weekend guests with the. Lewis family. Apple harvest is in full swing at the Dixon orchard and also at the Lynn Farm. A good crop is reported, Mr. & Mrs. Norman Blake are presently building a new home on the Blake home farm and will soon be ready to move. Mr,Andrew Robertson returned from his long stay In hospital and is feeling so much better. Mrs. J. Robertson was in Fergus to celebrate the birthday of her mother, Mrs. MacQueen. Mrs. Margaret Estes and Mr. Ed. League of Madison Heights, Michigan were weekend visitors at the Kestle home and attended the Kestle-Ross wedding in Forest on Saturday. Mr. & Mrs. Bert Chat-ten were Saturday visitorswith Dave and About fifty couples attended Eleanor Kestle. the Elimville United Church The parade at Saturday's Exeter Fair was the best one staged in many years. A large number of area youngsterS participated with their bicycles and trikes and entries in the other classifications were many. In the best decorated car class, Murray Greene of Bestline Products was the winner, Next in line came the DerbS, Dip, Mid- town Motors and A&H Food Market. The Alpha Pi Sorority was judged the best float entered by a club or organization. Following in the prize list were the Exeter Kinettes, the Exeter Minor Hockey Association and the Exeter Cubs. Scott's Leather Qoods provided the best businesk float followed by Carter's Bumper Service of London, Country Flowers, Northlander and Bev Morgan Insurance. In the best horse drawn vehicle category the winner was W. G. Thomson and Sons. Next came Purina Chows, Topnotch Feeds and Charles Webber and family, Exeter Sunoco,' Exeter Lions and Brian-Triebner took the top three awards for comic floats. Competition was keen in the bike and trike section, Taking prizes with their two wheel bikes were Michael Peter Dykstra, Barbara Skinner, Shelley and Debbie Gackstetter and Karen Wallace and Elizabeth Helm, The four wheel category was taken by Ronalee and Scott Bogart, Exeter public school, Karen Richards and Daryll Keller. Centennial Brides', and Grooms' Service on Sunday. Rev, & Mrs. Stuart Miners of Port Rowan and Rev. & Mrs. Hugh Wilson of Exeter were special guests. Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Johns who will be celebrating 56 years of marriage this week and Mr. & Mrs. William Stephens of Exeter who celebrated 50 years thii year were among the couples present. Rev. Barry Robinson renewed the marriage vows of all present. Mrs. Grace Pym was soloist and Mrs. Marjorie Johns was organist. Mrs. Verla Allen, Mr. Howard Pym and Bruce Delbridge of the Centennial Committee also assisted. A social hour was enjoyed by all in the basement of the church following the special ceremony. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Don Willcox and family of Kitchener an,* Mrs. Gerald Rannie and family of Brantford visited over the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Bill Routly and attended the "Bride and Groom" service at the Elimville ChuTch. Mr. & Mrs. Al McDonald of Owen Sound visited with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper over the week and Mr. & Mrs. Don Parsons and boys and Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper and family visited lariday evening with the •McDonalds and Coopers. Mr. Norman Jaques has returned home after a week in hospital. Many in the area attended the Exeter Fall Fair on Friday evening and Saturday. Some also attended the Country Music program on ,Sunday.
