Gerald and Ruth Ford of Hanover, Mrs. William Ford, Exeter, Greta Hodgins, London and Oney McFalls, Lucan visited Roof hoisted at Big '0' plant, electronic student honoured Mr. Robert Thompson of Kippen passed away in South Huron Hospital on Thursday, September 18 in his ninety-ninth year. He was the husband of the late Agnes Hay. Prior to moving to Kippen, the late Mr. Thompson -efarmed on Highway No, 4 bet- ty Hensel' and Kippen for many years. Surviving is a son Robert (Bert) daughters Mrs. Clarence (Pearl) Prestap of Mitchell, Mrs. David (Hazel) Moyer of Parry Sound, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Cornish of Goderich, Mrs. Robert (Myrtle) Stokes of London and Mrs. Lawrence (Blanche Elaine) Schneider of Stratford. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held from the Bonthron Funeral Chapel on Sunday conducted by Rev. W. D. Jarvis. Interment was in Hensall Union Cemetery. Flower bearers were Bruce Thompson and Garry Schneider of Stratford. Pallbearers were William Coleman, Jack Bell, Rochus Faber, Doug Cooper, Brian Smillie, and-Jim Armstrong. Mr. & Mrs. Roy Goodwin of Kitchener visited Sunday with Mrs. Audrey Christie, Mr. & Mrs. Wilmer MacGregor are holidaying with Mrs. William MacGregor and with Mr. & Mrs. Edgar McClinchey, Mrs. Mae Ford, Mrs, Hazel McNaughton. Mr. & Mrs, Harold Shepherd of Willowdale visited Mrs. Ada Mrs. Doris Bonthron visited her mother Mrs. E. Sararas. Leslie and Brenda Mitchell of Crediton visited with Mrs. Louise Mitchell. Mrs. A. -Taylor visited in Exeter on Saturday at the home of her son Delbert. Mr. & Mrs, Denroche visited Louise Mitchell. The staff of the Home held a shower in the dining room on Sunday evening for an employee Gerry Chappel who recently lost her home in a fire. Games were played and Gerry was the recipient ' of many beautiful and useful gifts for which she expressed sincere thanks. Refreshments were served. Farewell party Mr. & Mrs. Fred Brock were entertained by their neighbours at a farewell party at the home of Clarence Parke, After receiving their gift, they fittingly thanked all. A delicious tuna was served. Mr. & Mrs. Brock are now residing in the Senior Citizens apartment on Sanders Street in Exeter. We wish them good health and happiness in their new home. Bill Gibson, who has been holidaying in Vancouver, has returned home and will be operating his shop as usual. John D. Canada, Friday, received an award in recognition of his outstanding achievement in his course of studies in electronics, Mrs, Elizabeth Volland, aged 91, was one of Hensall's Senior Citizens who voted at the election last Thursday. With her was her daughter, Mrs. Irene Finlayson. Mrs. Volland has resided in Hensell for the past nine years but this is the first time she has voted since losing her eyesight. At the annual Presentation dinner given by the Seaforth Community Hospital Board Mrs. Lavine Norris, Ed Boyes, Ed Fischer and Mrs, Hilda Payne were presented with plaques acknowledging their years of service at the hospital. Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Dilling of Sarnia visited recently with their parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Dilling. She was accompanied home by her sister, Mrs. Fred Howe. Mrs, Howe will join her husband in Niagara. Falls where he has been in hospital, and they will be leaving shortly for Tucson, Arizona.
