spent last week at Rice Lake near
Peterborough,
Mr. & Mrs, William Schwartz
and Doris were in Michigan for
the weekend, visiting relatives in
Flint and Pigeon. They called on
cousins and on Mrs, Mose Haist,
Mr. Schwartz's only surviving
aunt. On their return journey
they stopped at the Bad Axe
Hospital in an attempt to see Ira
Faist, seriously ill in Intensive
Care.
Mr. & Mrs, Reg Park of
Gravenhurst, were weekend
visitors at the home of Mr. & Mrs,
Douglas Gill.
Annie Cook of Erin was guest at
the home of Ella Morlock last
week . Sunday visitors were
cousins from Pandora, Ohio,

visiting relatives in the area.
Under the leadership of Rev, &
Mrs. Bruce Pierce, more than
thirty teenagers met in Zion
United Church Saturday evening
to discuss the formation of Youth
Group. Plans include Bible study,
music, drama and involvement in

underprivileged. - -
Sunday afternoon Rev. Pierce
was guest speaker at the Dash-
wood Calvary United Church
Cemetery Decoration and
Memorial Service.
Sunday afternoon Rev. & Mrs.
Pierce and Mrs. Earl Haist at-
tended Open House ceremonies
at the Crest Homes, Crestview
and Crestwood, two miles west of
Elginfield on Highway 7. The
Crest Homes, a pioneer project
for Ontario, provide a place
where mentally and emotionally
disturbed people, able to leave a
psychiatric hospital, can live in a
family atmosphere until they
regain ability to live in-
dependently. Under the super-
vision of house parents, they
assist with the maintenance of
the property and with the
provision of the necessities of
daily living. Mr. & Mrs, Len
Rivett work as house parents
weekends. They were present
Sunday to explain to visitors the
function of the homes.
Rick Bowers is a patient at
University Hospital.
