Unit 2 of Hensall U.C.W, met on
September 8th with Lorna
Chapman in the chair and Brenda
Pepper at the piano. Thirteen
members and two guests were
present. Peg Forrest gave the
devotional on the theme "Hasty
in judgment". Guest speaker,
Mrs. Mabel Shirray gave a most
interesting account of her trip to
England and Scotland. Mary
Goodwin gave the study, telling
of the life of a small town U.C.
Minister in Matheson, Ontario
taken from the U.C. Observer.
Business conducted by Grace
Drummond consisted of
arrangements for the U.C.W.
General 'meeting on October 6
and notification of the Regional
meeting to be held at Crediton on
October 15. It was moved to make
Christmas favours at the
November meeting which will
open with a pot-luck supper, each
member to bring a guest. Final
arrangements were made to
assist with the catering for the
wedding on Saturday, Lorna
thanked everyone who had
assisted with the meeting and a
tasty lunch was served by the
hostesses, Beatrice Richardson
and Joyce Pepper.

Manor, in company with the
residents of Queenway Nursing
Home, enjoyed a bus trip on
Friday afternoon to Exeter,
Mitchell, Fullerton, to the Avon
river at Stratford and to the
Festival Theatre returning by
Mitchell where they enjoyed
refreshments in the park. There
were 44 in the group and the rain
did not dampen their spirits as
they all enjoyed the outing.

Presbyterian Church met
Monday evening. The president
Mrs. Harvey Hyde presided,
and opened the meeting with a
reading entitled "Rural
Serenity".
Mrs. Ruby Hoggarth was in
charge of the devotional "Good
Samaritans" dealing with
"Education and Medicines in the
Mission Fields", There was a
brief review of the church
missionaries working in Japan.
The Presbyterial Rally will be
held in Goderich, October B. The
next regular meeting will be held
on October 6 which is
"Thanksgiving."
The Ladies' Aid meeting
followed with Mrs. Clarence
Volland presiding. Arrangements
were made to hold a bazaar in
