J. Simpson. Miss Janis Kestle spent last week at Camp Arthur, Wm. Simpson who has been in St. Joseph's Hospital, London is able to be home again after having a cataract removed. Mrs. Jim McComb is in St. Joseph's Hospital where she has had surgery performed Miss Janie Robertson was in Ayr, where she was assisting her brother Archie with the Vacation Bible School. Last week an unintentional mistake read Mrs. Judi Henry. It should read Miss Judi Henry has spent the past three weeks assisting with the Church Camp at Arthur. By MRS. Andrew Robertson has returned from Philippines to participate in his brother's wedding and is spending this week in St. Joseph's Hospital undergoing tests. Mr. & Mrs. Dan Rogers, Desmond and Lorne and Mrs. J. Scarffe, London spent the weekend camping at Burford Lake. Danny participated in a horseshoe tournament at the camp and came in third place, Congratulations to the new arrival in town. Jeannie and Glen Newton have a baby girl. Mr. & Mrs. Wm McHugh have vacated the apartment at the school where they have lived since they were married. They are presently at their cottage in Grand Bend and hope to have their home near Nairn ready for occupancy soon. Welcome to Mr. & Mrs. Kaszula, both are teachers and commute to London. GERTRUDE (LYNN) WILLIAMS Gertrude (Lynn) Williams passed away August 28, in St, Mary's Hospital, London, in her 71st year, Mrs. Williams was the wife of the late Mervin Williams and mother of Mrs, Bill (Edna) Arnold, London. Also surviving is one grand-daughter Doris Arnold. Funeral service was held Monday, September 1, from the C. Haskett and Son Funeral Home, Lucan with Rev. E. Madden of Clandeboye United Church officiating. Interment was in Marrs Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Cun- ningham, Arnold Lewis, Ken Carter, David Kestle, Arnold Blake and James Cunningham. Kerry Lynne Mahoney', Cambridge, spent part of her holidays with her grandparents, Mr, & Mrs. Sam King. Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Schenk visited Mrs. Schenk's parents in Cornwall recently, Mrs. Margaret Buxton has sold her property to Mr. Baird, Hensall, and has moved to an apartment in Cherry Hill Circle, London. Neighbours gathered at her home before her departure and presented her with a gift. Mr. & Mrs. Olmstead, Hamilton, parents of Mrs. Rivett, were guests of Mr. & Mrs, Len Rivett last week. Douglas Gill, home from St. Joseph's Hospital, was admitted to South Huron Hospital Sunday. Elmer Lawson is a patient at South Huron Hospital. There was a christening ceremony for Melinda Nethercott at Trivitt Memorial church, Exeter, Sunday afternoon. Present at a family dinner at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Ed Nethercott following the ceremony were Mr. & Mrs. Ross Langford, Exeter, Mr. & Mrs. Stewart Nethercott and Dale, Dorchester, Mr. & Mrs, Cliff Langford and family, Goderich, Mr. & Mrs. La Vern Cobleigh and Miss Sharon Cobleigh, Michigan, Mr, & Mrs. Jerry Rastin and family, Mount Bridges, Mr. & Mrs. Don Nethercott and family, London. Visiting at the home of Mr, & Mrs. Will Oestricher last week were Mr. & Mrs. Robert Greenwood and family, Don Mills. Edward Schenk, Mississauga, visited with his mother, Mrs. Hugo Schenk, last week, Elimviile kids win ball event By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILI.E The Elimville Bantam boys won the 'Osborne Bantam tour- nament at Kirkton on Monday. They defeated the Hibbert boys and Hurondale boys. The coaches are Howard Pym and Martin De Jonge. The Elimville Bantam girls won the consolation trophy. They defeated Thames Road girls and gwierrise defeated by the Hurondale The coaches were Donald Stroud and Gwen Coward. The president, Sam Skinner, presented the trophies. Several from thecommunity attended the tournament. We welcome Mr. & Mrs. Donald Stroud and family to the community. Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper and family' visited with Mrs. Ken Lovie, Shipka, Saturday evening. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Routly attended the decoration service at Zion on Sunday and also visited with Mrs. Gladys Hern. Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper spent the weekend in Port Huron.
