It has become a tradition. with.

time.
This year two ,such tneetinga
are to. be held, one at Exeter for
the riding of Huron-MiddleaeX
and one at Wingham for the
Huron4$ruce riding,
On the night of September 11 at.
8 p.m. the Exeter High Seheol
will be the place where in-
cumbent Liberal Jack Riddell,
Progressive Conservative Jim
Hayter and. NDP candidate Paul
Carroll will field questions from
the audience.
This audience is not confined to
federation members hut is open
to any citizen who wants answers
to some questions,
An enthusiastic crowd of 1,233
pork lovers partook of the annual
pork barbecue and dance at the
Seaforth arena recently. Hun-
dreds more had to be turned
away because the capacity of the
barbecue operated by Leo
Kroonen of Dublin was strained
to the limit. After the delicious
meal, competing for the honour
to be Huron County Pork Hostess
1975 took pine. Six lovely girls
vied for the title. After an in-
terview with the three judges,
who quizzed them on their
knowledge of pork cooking and
table display, each spoke for two
minutes on the merits of pork.
The judges were Mrs. Robert
McKinley, Mrs. Murray Gaunt
and Mrs. John Riddell, wives of
Hurons' three representatives in
parliament, and they awarded
the hostess crown to Miss Cathy
Madill' of Blytli— Second place
was taken by Miss Judy Miller of
Dashwood. The runner ups were
Miss Barbara Miller of Exeter,
Miss Glenna Ellis of Clinton, Miss
Teresa Ondrejicka of Exeter and
Miss VanDoornik of Seaforth,
Mr. Frank Bainton, President
of Bainton's Old Mill in Blyth
presented the winner with a
beautiful suede pigskin jacket.
The other contestants received a
cheque from the, Huron Pork
Producers Association who
sponsored the event, Miss Brenda
Moore of Goderich township who
was 1974 Hostess, crowned the
new Hostess and spoke briefly of
her experiences during the year
when she had the title.
ALL A MATTER OF TASTE — Some pork lovers might have found the barbecued pork chops the Attraction
at the Seaforth arena recently, while others might have found the pork hostess and princess more their dish,
The winner was Cathy Madill, Blyth, third from the right. Others from the left are: Jackie VanDoornick,
Seaforth; Teresa Ondrejicka, Exeter; Judy Miller, Dashwood, the runnerup; Cathy Madill; Barbara Miller,

It was exam night for 4-H
members in the south part of
Huron, Wednesday.
Over 150 members gathered at
Huron Centennial School
Brucefield, to .write down on
paper what they had learned
during the past term on the
various projects they had been
studying.
Len McGregor of the Ministry
of Agriculture Clinton, was in
charge of the exams which may
count 200 points out of the 1,000
points allotted for each 4-H
project.
Members of the Exeter 4-H Calf
Club presented a skit on The
Advantages of Being a 4-H
member at the exam night.
Miss Jane Pengilley, Huron
County Home Economist, in
commenting on the skit, which
was divided into five small skits,
said it was well-organized and
well presented.
One skit demonstrated how the
4-H member learns control, and
good nutrition; another the
importance of understanding
banking procedures and the
importance of having a gOod
credit rating; the third demon-
strated the value of attending
conferences; the fourth the fun of
taking part in an exchange
program and visiting another
district and the final skit showed
the recreation gained by mem-
bers from the 4-H clubs.
One skit showed Farmers
Wayne Shapton arranging for a
$5,000 loan from Banker Brian
Pym - the wrong way to go about
it by not having proper records
and the better way by showing
the banker records which would
demonstrate the farmer's ability.
Another skit showed Farmer
Donald Hern being told by his son
