on Tuesday evening for a bridal
shower for Doreen Taylor of
Thedford, bride-elect whose
marriage to Bill Blanc will take
place August 9.
Marguerite welcomed the
guests and conducted an art
contest, won by Marion Abbott
and Mary Davis. Freda had a
contest on the brides apparel won
by Margaret and Eileen Carroll.
Donna Van Arenthal gave a
reading and read an address to
the bride-to-be. She was assisted
in opening the many useful gifts
by Donna Parnell and Verna
Blane, In a few well chosen words
she thanked everyone and the
ladies served refreshments.
Sunday at noon 25 members of
St. Patrick's church and Sunday
school gathered in the parish hall
for a picnic and dinner. Brenda
Carroll w,as observing her tenth
birthday and Kim Blay ober-
served hers.

Mr. & Mrs, Charles Snell,
Exeter had a nice visit with Mr. &
Mrs. Dave Kestle and Janis on
Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Bonnie Morgan and Lois
visited with Marjorie and Lloyd
Gibson.
Mrs. G. Cunningham, Dorothy,
Kevin, Carol, and Perry were
guests with Mr. & Mrs. Lightfoot
and family at 13rights ;Grove on
Wednesday,
Mrs. Wm. McHugh has
returned to her position after one
months holiday, The McHughs
are spending the summer in
Grand Bend with Mr. McHugh's
father who has been very ill.
The Anglican congregation
joined in fellowship with the
United Church at lest Sunday's
service,

chartering a bus to Country
Playhouse at Grand Bend where

Mrs.Lorne Derbyshire, Mrs. R.
Williams, Mrs, G. Lee were in
Strathroy Sunday visiting with
Mr. Lorne Derbyshire in hospital.
Sunday evening at the Gala
Days program at Ailsa Craig, the
Crystalaires, The Stewart Sisters
and The Maranatha Messengers
thrilled the crowd with their
songs of praise. Many area
resident attended and enjoyed
both evenings of music', as
Monday evening was a Country
Western program.

Carter of Stratford spent 2 weeks
holidays at Victoria, Vancouver
and Calgary and other places of
interest,

joyed a peanut scramble and a
candy scramble. All enjoyed a
delicious meal and Kim Greenlee
was the youngest present.
