HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA About 35 attended a community picnic held Wednesday evening at Shipka Community Centre. There were sports and games for the children followed by a bar- beque, Wednesday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Henry Becker were her sister Mrs. Clara Petznick and cousins Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Braun of Waterloo. Mrs. Hazel Corbett visited Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Annie Morenz, Mrs. Henry Becker ac- companied by Mr. & Mrs. Vern Becker of Exeter visited Thur- sday with relatives in Kitchener. Morenz Reunion Pincnic The 24th annual Morenz reunion was held Sunday at Harmony Park near Stratford. Winners in sports events are as follows: Bill Jeffery, Mrs. Lavern Wolfe, Hugh Morenz, Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Wolfe, Les Adams, Given Kahle, Greg Kahle, Earl Stephen , Marilyn Boyce, and Ron Voogel. After a delicious smorgasbord supper Earl Stephen , President, presided for election of of- ficers.President is Gerald Wilhelm with secreatary - Caroline Wilhelm and treasurer - Bill Jeffery. It wai decided'to' hold the 1976 picnic at the same place the second Sunday in June. Sports committee, Bill Jeffery, Marilyn Boyce and Marlene and Larry La Croix. Special prizes awarded were:. Longest married couple were Mr. & Mrs. Bill Stephen, Exeter who have been married 50 years. Newest married couple were Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Wolfe of Clinton. The oldest lady was Mrs. Bill Stephen of Exeter and the oldest man was John Heckman of Dash- wood. The youngest person was Caroline Wilhelm of Dashwood. The birthday nearest picnic date was Mrs. Les Adams, of Exeter . Attending from the farthest distance from Harmony were Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Morenz. Personals Edwin Snyder attended the Church of God camp meeting at Thamesford last week. Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Morenz at- tended an Open House 35th wedding anniversary party for her cousins, Mr. & Mrs. Harry Coleman at the home of the Coleman's daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Ron Reid of Mitchell. The Morenz's also attended the Morenz reunion. Frances Leyten of Watford and Gwen Gosling of Strathroy visited last week with their aunt and uncle and cousins Mr. & Mrs. Gus Van Massenhoven, Anita, Ronnie and Michael. Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Bell of Mission, Texas, visited last week with Mr. & Mrs. Murray Reid. Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Reid are sisters. Mr. & Mrs. Ron Deichert and boys of Sault St. Marie are visiting this week with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Ratz. On Sunday they visited his father Mr. & Mrs. Albert Deichert in Zurich. Mr. & Mrs. Mike Adams of Winnipeg Manitoba, have been visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Desjardine and other relatives in this area. Mrs. Adams was the former Dale Desjardine, youngest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Chester Desjardine. Mr. & Mrs. Willis Des-jardine celebrated their seventeenth wedding anniversary on Sunday with, an "Open House, Come and Go party". Relatives and friends attended from Ilderton, Exeter, Huron Park, Staffa, Parkhill, London, Dublin, Dashwood, Dungannon and Goderich. Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Ratz and Helen Jamieson of Thedford spent a few days last week with Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Godbolt of Exeter at their son's cottage at Blind River.
