HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Exeter Times-Advocate, 1975-07-31, Page 2Ay MPS, WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD On SUtIday morning the annual outdoor church service was held in Riverview Park with about one hundred and fifty people attending from Elimville and Thames 'Road. During the church service promotiOn exercises and the recognition of teachers and students took place. Rev, Barry Robinson spoke on "A Few Kind Words For Losers." Several favourite hymns were sung, The offering was taken by William Snow, Arnold Cann and Elson Lynn, After the service everyone sat down to a bountiful dinner. After dinner was over, games were played. 'Mrs. Glen Stewart guessed how many smarties that were in a jar, Races were run as follows, Children 3 & 4 years:. A number of relay races were run. Most of the people went to the Thames Road Ball Diamond where a rousing ball game was played between Thames Road and Elimville with Thames Road being the winners. The teachers of this young peoples class are Mrs. Murray Dawson and Mrs. Floyd Stewart. Lori Lynn Stewart, 11 years; Lee Hodgert, 10 years; Joyce Cunnington, 10 years. The intermediate teachers are Mrs. Glenn Lamport and Mrs. Larry Ballantyne. Mrs. Pearl Baynham of London visited recently with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Passmore, Miss Ethel Dykeman of Lucan visited a few days with her aunt , Mrs, Chas. Jeffery. Mr. & Mrs. Mac Hodgert returned home on Sunday evening after having spent two weeks on a motor trip through Newfoundland , the Maritimes and Quebec. Mr. & Mrs. David Passmore, Toni and Jon attended a surprise gathering at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Jones on Sunday in honour of her daughter Linda who graduated from the School of Nursing Victoria Hospital, London as an R.N. Mr. & Mrs. George Kellett, Carolyn and Lawrence spent a week holidaying at Miller Lake. Mrs. Whitmore, Toronto spent;, a few days with Mr. & Mrs. Barry Jeffery.
