GLENN STEPHEN KRESS Mary Lillian Corbett and Glenn Stephen Kress were united in marriage July 5 at Caven Presbyterian Church, Exeter. Mary is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John W. Corbett, Exeter and Glenn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Kress, Blenheim. Catherine Corbett, Toronto was maid of honour for her sister, and Ben Tung, London was best man. Other attendants were Lorna Corbett, Exeter, Sally Kress, Blenheim, Robert Kress, Blenheim and John Nicoll, Toronto. Robert McIntosh, Dashwood; was the organist. Surprise cutlets are prepared all over France by thrifty housewives, who prepare them with leftover roast or boiled chicken,veal, lamb or beef, If you use leftover meat, you should reduce cooking time accordingly. These cutlets can be prepared ahead of time and then frozen, thereby reducing last minute preparation to a minimum. Surprise veal cutlets (4 portions) 11/2 lbs. ground shoulder of veal 4 slices lean ham 4 tablespoons peanut oil 1 2 lb, mushrooms, sliced salt pepper 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley 1 2 teaspoon chopped chives 1 cup breadlcrumbs 1 .1 cup milk :1 .1 cups flour 3 eggs Ahead of time Grind the veal and the ham together through the fine disc of a meat grinder and set aside. Heat 1 tablespoon peanut oil in a saute pan, over high heat, When hot, add the mushrooms and saute them for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, Season to taste and add the chopped par- sley and chives. Let cool for a few minutes. Grind the mushrooms, then add them to the ground meat, Soak 1/2 cup breadcrumbs in the milk for 5 minutes. Squeeze them dry, then mix them to the ground meat and mushrooms. Season well. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons flour into the mixture. Add 1 egg and mix until thoroughly blended. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour. Shape the mixture into 4 large patties, In order to prevent the meat from sticking to your fingers, rub your hands lightly with peanut oil. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Beat the remaining eggs and 1 tablespoon of peanut oil together. Coat the patties with flour, then with beaten egg and finally with breadcrumbs. Heat the remaining oil in a large, ovenproof saute pan, over high heal. When hot, add the patties and brown them for 5 minutes' on each side, over medium heat. Place the saute pan in the oven and continue to cook for 29 minutes, Place 2 cups of your favorite plain tomato sauce in the bottom of a serving dish,. Arrange the patties on the sauce and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. The Huronview Rhythm Band helped ,to provide the music for Monday afternoons get together and were accompanied by Elsie Henderson. With the temperature in the eighties, dveryone enjoyed the music of the Clinton Legion Pipe Band on Tuesday evening. The band used the front parking lot and drive for their marching numbers with one special number for Mr. Walter Kingswell on his ninety-seventh birthday. Ten residents who are mem- bers of the Goderich Octogenarian Club attended the annual picnic at the Saltford Valley Hall on Wednesday af- ternoon, The Elimville Women's Institute were hosts for the July Birthday Party, The program included a sing song, in- strumentals by Cecil Skinner accompanied by Mrs,Bullock, duet numbers by Clifford Jaques and La Verne Rodd. The twenty- six celebrants were presented with gifts and the ladies served lemonade and birthday cake to 100 residents and guests. Mrs,Waghorn, a former member of the institute, expressed the appreciation of the residents. The difference between a genuine velvet or suede and a flocked fabric can easily be determined by checking the backing which is usually a knitted cotton fabric. RICHARD HAVELING The marriage of Kathleen Joyce Galusha and Richard Haveling took place June 7 in Emo Knox United Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Galusha of Barwick and the groom is the only son of Mrs. Edith Haigh of Exeter and the late Edward Haveling of Stratford. The young couple are residing in Fort Frances, Ontario where the groom is on the staff of Natural Resources and the bride is employed at the Emo O.P.P. detachment. Kirkton nurse returns to B.C. By MRS. HAROLD DAVIS Mr. Howard Bearss has been transfered from St. Joseph's Hospital in London to St, Marys' Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. Mr, & Mrs. Ron Denham, Wayne and Marlyne attended the Skinner Reunion at St. Pauls, Sunday, Miss Brenda Denham, ac- companied by her friend, Jo Ann Gibson of London, left Sunday, motoring to Hazelton, British Columbia where they are working for another year at Wrench Memorial Hospital. Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Denham spent a week visiting in Calgary, Jasper, Hazelton, Prince Rupert and took the ferry to Vancouver, Brenda had returned home with them and spent the past two weeks with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Doug Atcheson and family of Wallaceburg attended the beef barbecue and visited with the latters brother, Mr. & Mrs. Allan Eveleigh, Other visitors were Greg Isaac, and Doug McArthur of Wallaceburg. Weekend Visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Rea Stephen were Mr. & Mrs. Gary Ballard of Toronto, Mr. & Mrs, Harold Grieson of London, Mr. & Mrs. Willard Schaefer of Kitchener and Mr. Roy Hunt of St. Marys, visited during the week. Those attending were Pearl Buswell Barbara Down, Pat Hodgert, Margaret Pym, Jackie Riehl, Heather and Tracy Reid. The flowers in the church on Sunday were placed there in memory of the late Ernest Pym and the late William Ferguson. The sympathy of the community is extended to their families. The couple whose marriage will take place on Saturday, August 9, 1975, in London, Ontario, were also given a Wedding Shower recently by members of the Congregation of Adelaide Street Baptist Church in London, where both are members.
