ques were presented at a social night held Monday when proceeds of

CROMARTY
Mrs. John Miller was hostess
for the July meeting of Cromarty
Ladies' Aid.
Mrs. Robert Laing opened the
Meeting with .a poem,
"something good about you",
followed by the hymn, "Tell Me
the Stories of Jesus."
Mrs. John Miller read the
scriptures from Jeremiah, and
Mrs, T,L, Scott led in prayer.
MargaretLaingreported on her
experiences at Congress 75,
gathering of over eight hundred
Presbyterians from all of
Canada, at McMaster University,
Hamilton.
Her roommate was Agnes
Hislop, a missionary from India,
who is well-known in this com-
munity.
Shirley Miller entertained the
group with a step-dance. Eight
members answered the roll call
With a favourite preserving
recipe. Jean Carey gave the
minutes of the May meeting, and
the treasurer's report was given
by Mrs. John Miller,
The report on the strawberry
supper in June showed it to be
very successful financially, A
refund of travel expenses for the
Congress delegates was donated
to the Centennial fund of the
church,
The meeting closed with the
Lord's Prayer,
At the park
In the men's softball games on
Sunday afternoon, Fullarton and
Staffa were victors in their
games against Cromarty and
Roys respectively,
Wednesday night saw Hibbert
North Bantam boys lose out to
Hurondale, On Friday, Hibbert 2,
Peewee boys defeated Thames
Road.

Tomes and Mrs. Clem Jeffrey
were conveners for a
miscellaneous shower in the
schoolroom of the United Church
on Wednesday evening of last
week honouring Brenda Rimmer
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. J.
Rimmer on her approaching
marriage.
Readings were given by Mrs.
Tomes and piano solos were
played by Mrs, Dietrich. The
address was read by Mary Ann
Fejkl. Brenda's young nieces
presented the gifts and two
friends assisted in opening and
displaying the beautiful gifts for
which Brenda expressed her
appreciation.

creativity at Hensall Playground.

Thirty five childrenages four to
fifteen have enrolled in the
program sponsored by Hensall
Recreation Committee. Director
Bob Baker has hired four

reunion at the home of Allan
Somers, St. Marys.
Mr. & Mrs. Jake Hovies of
Sarnia spent the weekend with
Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner and
family.

family returned home from a
week's vacation.

The playground which is in
operation until July 19 has many
activities on the go, Freddy the
freeloader arid pals had a good
time on hobo day, Making 'modge
q3odgel (no it's not some kind of
porridge) and macaroni crafts
are lots of fun.
Plans for a pop bottle drive are
underway to raise money for a
camp-out, A trip to the Clinton
and Holmesville game farms has
been organized.
It's hectic at times but we are
enjoying every minute," says
Kathy Sangster as she cleans
paint off the hands of the wee
painters.
Tom F. DUffy is
named manager
Tom F. Duffy has been ap-
pointed to the promotion of
western sales and marketing
manager for Dashwood
Industries, effective August 1.
Mr. Duffy joined Dashwood
Industries in 1968 as executive
assistant, and has gained exp-
tensive experience in all phases
of operations.
He will continue to maintain his
responsibility for corporate
liaison and communication with
west coast lumber suppliers in
addition to assuming respon-
sibility for total sales
management and marketing for
all western operations.
Mr. & Mrs. Duffy and family
who are residents of Hensall will
be taking up residence in Win-
nipeg.
