agriculture and canadian in-
dustries meeting of the Staffa
Womens Institute on Tuesday,
June 24 at 8:30 p.m.
One highlight of the evening
was a tour of the farrowing
barns, where members were able
to see the complete pig
operation.
Another highlight was the
presentation of life memberships
and pins to two faithful members,
Mrs. Ruby Reed and Mrs. Roy
MacDonald. Mrs. MacDonald
was unable to be present, but
Mrs, Charles Douglas presented
Mrs. Reed with her certificate
while Mrs. John Miller pinned
her life membership badge on her
lapel.
The meeting was opened with
the Institute Ode and Mary
Stewart Collect followed by a
poem "The Clock of Life" read by
Mrs. Douglas.
Correspondence was read and
dealt with. Both Stratford and
Mitchell Fair have asked if the
W.I. were interested in spon-
soring a candidate for Queen. It
was moved that we sponsor a girl
for Mitchell Fair,
Mrs. Charles Douglas and Mrs.
Lloyd Miller were named as
committee to set up the Institute
display at Mitchell Fair on
