many youngsters during summer
holidays.
Here's the solution for bored
kids and overworked mothers;
enroll your children in the Exeter
playground program. There are
six energetic young ladies
available to make your summer
enjoyable.
The program's aim is to help
children interact with others in a
healthy outdoor environment. It
will run Monday to Friday, 9;30-
11:30 a.m. and 1:15-4:00 p.rn.
Regular attendance is convenient
but not compulsory.
The girls will be taking
registrations July 7 all day at
Exeter Public School. Children
may sign up for the entire eight
weeks of the program or for four
weeks,
The playground staff has
received special training in
outdoor play at Lake Huron Zone
area recreation camp. The girls
attended the five day leadership
training course at Camp
Munesetung just north of
Goderich, The camp held
sessions in various areas, such as
program planning, arts and
crafts, active and quiet games,
music, discipline on the
playground, public relations and
first aid.

had attended the camp before but
it was a first experience for

Three programs have been set
up. The junior program for four
to seven years held at Exeter
Public School is now a full day
rather than the half day of
previous years. Many exciting
activities have been planned such
as swimming on Wednesday
afternoons at Victoria Park,
visits to the library, planting
seeds and building a playhouse
out of cardboard boxes, Special
events include camping and a
visit to Storybook Gardens, Linda
Ritchie and Tracy Campbell are
in charge of the junior program,
The intermediate program for
children 8 to 11 years sounds very
interesting. Activities include a
playday with different parks
from other towns, a play put on
by the Huron Country Playhouse
and Christmas in July complete
with presents and games.
