Mr, & Mrs,Clare Cook, Detroit Cadet heads to Arctic An Exeter youth is one of 100 Canadian boys participating in a Army Cadet Summer Arctic Indoctrination course. Cadet Captain Greg Pfaff left Sunday morning for Montreal and the first stop on the trip, The cadets will be in Montreal until July 9 when they move on to Resolute Bay in the Northwest Territories, They return to Montreal on July 23 for another four days and then back to their own regional camps for briefing of instructors. This special arctic course was organized to familiarize per- sonnel of the cadet movement with problems of living, moving and completing assigned tasks in the Canadian north and to give ample opportunity of leadership at all levels, Candidates selected were those thought to be adventurous, physically and mentally fit and not afraid of being with a group that is completely isolated from the civilized world with the ex- ception of radio contact. Greg Pfaff was recently named the outstanding member of the Middlesex-Huron ' Cadet Corps. He is the son of Mr, and Mrs. Harvey C. Mildred Ethel (Laws) Thomas who passed away Saturday, June 21, Mrs. Thomas was the wife of the late W. Arthur Thomas, Goderich and mother of Mrs. Stewart (Betty) Taylor, Exeter and James Arthur Thomas, Vanastra. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ivey Grenier, London, England, Mrs. Ruby Baker, Collingwood, Mrs, Gloria Woods, Bowmanville, and three brothers, Ernest Laws, Goderich, Sidney, Brucefield, and William, Owen Sound. Interment was in Maitland Cemetery. JESSIE HAMILTON. The funeral of the late Jessie Marion (Brooks) Hamilton, R.N. of 589 Hale Street, London, was held from the C. Haskett & Son Funeral Home, Lucan, on Tuesday, June 24 with Rev. R. J. Warren of Trinity United Church, 'London, officiating. Mrs. Hamilton died suddenly in Victoria Hospital on Saturday, June 21. She was the wife of Robert A. Hamilton, a sister of Raymond Brooks, , London, Morris Brooks, Springfield, Ill., Gordon Brooks, Lucan and Norman Brooks of Komoka. She was born and raised near Whalen, attending public school there and secondary school at Winchelsea , following which she entered Victoria School of Nursing, graduating as an R.N. Mrs. Hamilton was the office nurse for Dr. Fletcher, Exeter, and then on staff at Byron Sanatorium for •many years, until it was phased out. The pallbearers were Jack Delbridge, Ross Hern, Earl Hindle, Freeman Horne, Graham Spencer and Jack Whitlow, Interment was in Zion Cemetery, Usborne Township. FRANZ PERTSCH1 Funeral service was held Wednesday, June 25 at Church of our Lady, Mt. Carmel, for Franz Pertschi, Bluewater Rest Home, formerly Crediton, who passed away Saturday June 22, at South Huron Hospital. Franz was the father of Mrs. Marie Morsch, Germany, Mrs. Steve (Anna) Eberhart, RR 2, Centralia, and Stefan, RR 1, Crediton. Also surviving is one brother, Stefan, Germany, eight grand- children, and three great- grandchildren. Interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. LLOYD HENDRICK Lloyd Hendrick of Exeter passed away Monday, June 23 in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, in his 71st year. Lloyd was the husband of Dorothy Brenner and father of Mrs. Eldon (Doreen) Deters, Exeter, Mrs. Clayton (Irene) Thompson, Kincardine and Harold, RR 1 Dashwood. Also surviving are brothers Ed, Crediton, Laird, Grand Bend, Rickie, Fla; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Ruby) Bell, New Port, and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Harry (Ruby) Cole, and brothers Samuel and Donald. Funeral service was held Wednesday June 25, at T. Harry Hoffman Funeral Home, Dash- wood with Rev. H. Dobson, Grand Bend officiating, Interment was in Grand Bend Cemetery. Lewis, Mr. Fred Smith and Brenda Lewis attended the. Armitage reunion on Sunday at the Weldon Park in Arva with 61 members of the ,clan. Mr. & Mrs. Don Latta and family attended their family picnic at Weldon' Park on SLUIdaY. Mr. 4 Mrs. Gerry Noyes and family have recently moved into the apartment of the Arthur Simpson home. We are sorry to have to report that Mrs. Olive Hodgins is in St, ,Josephs Hospital after her gar went into,the ditch enconeessids 1 road. She has a broken hip.Wo wish her a speedy recovery. LAURA GODBOLT Laura Godbolt, beloved wife of Harold Victor Pym, of 396 Queens Avenue, London passed away in Kincardine and District General Hospital, Friday, June 20, 1975 in her 82nd year. Born in Winchelsea, July 24, 1893, daughter of the late George and Liza Godbolt. Leftl to mourn her passing besides her husband, are a daughter Mrs. Robert (Marion) Rae of London and a son Jack of Kincardine.Also survived by 'eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son Bill (overseas) in 1942, also by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Burial was in Wingham Cemetery Monday June 23. EDITH BOULTON Edith (Preston) Boulton passed away at her home in Mount Forest on Monday, June 23, in her 74th year. She was the wife of Harry Boulton and mother of Mrs. Roland (Marianne) McCaffrey, Exeter and Jack Preston of Minto Township. She .was predeceased by her first husband, Gilbert Preston, The funeral was conducted Wednesday from the Hendrick Funeral Home Mount Forest with intermentiin Harriston. NORMAN H. FELTZ Norman H. Feltz, son of Morley and Shirley Feltz, McGillivray Township, died on Monday, June 23 in his 21st year. He was the Ibrother !of James FeltZ, Ailsa Craig; Barbara Bonnie and Marjorie, all at home, and a grandson of Wilbert (Bill) Fe14," Lieury. Funeral service will be held Thursday from the M.Box & Son Funeral Home in Parkhill at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. F. Ralph of- ficiating. Burial will be in Parkhill cemetery. KENNETH D. ROBERTS Funeral service will be held Friday from the T. Harry Hoff- man Funeral Home in Dashwood for Kenneth D. Roberts, RR 2, Grand Bend, who died Monday, June 23. He was the in his 50th year and is survived by his wife, Margery and two daughters Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Campbell, Guelph, and Darlene Roberts, London. Also surviving are his mother Mrs. Vera Roberts, London; two sisfers,'Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Parks, and Mrs. Jerry (Marilyn) Ferrington, both of London and one brother Jack of Montreal, Interment will be in Exeter cemetery with Rev. H, Dobson officiating, DORCAS ANN (ANNIE) APPLETON Mrs. Dorcas Ann (Annie) Appleton, Exeter, passed away after a lengthy illness June 19 at Victoria Hospital, London in her 84th year. Mrs. Appleton was the wife of Ernest Appleton, and mother of Mrs. Percy (Jean) Noels, Exeter. Also surviving are two brothers Fred Pyle, Kamloops, British Columbia, and Charles Pyle, Wairiwright, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, \ nieces, nephews and great ',nieces, and nephews. Funeral service was held at Hopper Hockey Funeral Home, Exeter, on Saturday June 21 with Rev. Harold Snell officiating. Eighty seven descendants of the late John and Margaret Becker of Dashwood attended. The thirty families represented came from Dashwood, Zurich, Creditor), Exeter, London, Mitchell, Stratford, Peter- borough, Toronto New Dundee, Kitchener and Waterloo. John Becker, Dashwood is the president for the 1976 reunion. Campers like Klondyke By MR. MELVIN DURR BOSANQUET Mr. & Mrs. H. Prance were camping recently at Sable, near Wiarton. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Blewett at- tended a reunion at St. Themes Saturday. The Klondyke school has been a favorite site for campers. Mr. & Mrs. H. Prance attended the hockey banquet at Thedford arena with their grandson Brian Gill, a player, last Wednesday. The Moore reunion at Exeter Park Sunday, was well attended by Willsie's, Watsons, Elliotts, Pyms, Prances, Harrells, Lovies, also Mrs. Wm.Gill, Cathy and Debby Clark. The Donald-Sierpien wedding Saturday was well attended. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Prance attended the old-time fiddlers contest in Hensel] Saturday, also they entertained their families on Sunday. Fred McDonald is a patient in hospital at Leamington. Mr. & Mrs,Rick Dobson, recent newly weds of the community were guests of honor at Bosanquet Central school Friday evening for a presentation by relatives, friends and neigh- bours. Stan Humphries is a patient in Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Mervyn Pam, has reuturned home from,Victoria hospital.
