Mrs. Anderson gave the

Council held in London. The study

faith" was given by Mrs. Forrest,
Mrs. Middleton read the scrip-

One of the largest buildings at
Vanastra, near Clinton, the
former Sergeants Mess which
has been vacant since departure
of the Canadian Armed Forces
has beep sold to C.H. Lewis of
Lucan, -
Lewis, owner of the Shilelagh
Motor Hotel and Central Hotel in.
Lucan told Tuckersmith township
council Tuesday night that he
plans on establishing a
restaurant and cocktail lounge.
The hotel operator said the new
restaurant would have a seating
capacity of about 600 and he
hoped to have the facilities ready
for business by August 1.
Council will apply to the
Ontario Municipal Board to have
'the Lewis property rezoned to
Commercial C3 from its present
institutional use.
At the same time council will
be asked for spot zoning for the
former CFB library building for
its present owners, Mr. and Mrs.
Sam Russo.

On Tuesday, the Church ser-
vice was conducted by Rev. Jack
Roeda of Exeter, with Louise
Mitchell accompanying on the
piano.
The Christian Reformed
Church Women of Exeter en-
tertained the residents by taking
those who were able for a drive to
Exeter park for a few hours on
Monday afternoon. Refresh-
ments were served there.Alice

most enjoyable afternoon was
spent.

A report from the Ontario
Ministry of the Environment
informed council that inspection
of sewage works in Egmcadville
indicated excessive sewage
pollution and deterioration of the
Hayfield River.
Council will be asking for more
summer testing to compare to
spring testings and will ask that
no tests be taken in the Bayfield
River below the Seaforth sewage
lagoon where seepage may be
occurring.
Engineer Henry Uderstadt was
appointed to report on repair and
improvement to the Sinclair
municipal drain as petitioned by
Robert MacGregor and others.
B.M. Ross Associates of
Goderich authorized calling of
tenders for construction of a
bridge at Lot 1, (Drummond's)
Concession 10-11.
Two miles of sideroad 5-6 from
the railway track to Sproat's
bridge will be reconstructed this
summer.
Robert Cook told council he
was concerned about flooding on
his and neighbouring property at
the south-easterly edge of
Hensall. Cook said the road was
much lower than it should be.
Road superintendent Allan
disagreed with Cook.
Reeve Elgin Thompson
suggested a grass waterway be
constructed by seeding a:portion
of the property and said the water
would then disappear.
The Ontario Ministry of
Transportation and Con'i-
munications told council a signal
light or turning lane was not
warranted on Highway 4 at 5th
Avenue in Vanastra.
