The Granton recreation Club
met Monday evening at the Scout
Hall. The purpose of this meeting
was to organize for Fun Day in
July.
It was decided to have two new
events this year, a yo yo contest
and a baby show. The committee
in charge is . Eric Chevoncek,
Roberta moss, and Jim Harding.
Later at the home of Jim and
Willa Harding another com-
mittee was set up to assist with
the arrangements. Willa Har-
ding, Ruth Ann Peckham and
Betty Picollo were elected to help
with the plans. Granton Fun Day
was a great success last year,
and it looks as though it will be
even better this year.
Bowling banquet
The Diamond ladies bowling
league held their banquet,
Monday evening May 12 at the
Presbyterian Church St. Marys.
Three teams have competed"
from Granton.
Ladies receiving team trophies
were, Judy Sleeper, Shirley
Bannerman, Mary McRobert,
Nancy Marshall, Penny Alten-
burg and Willa Harding.
Individual trophy winners were
Willa Harding, Noreen ftinn for
high average and high triple,
Shiela Horar.
Much credit goes to the
executive for arranging such a
nice banquet. The committee

president, Nancy Marshall,

ACW members of St. Patrick's
Church and one guest. The
meeting opened with, the in-
vocation read by Mrs. Savary.
Mrs. Viola Atkinson read the
scripture.
Rev. Savary gave a report on
the Synod held the day before at
St. Paul's Cathedral,London.
Mrs. Earl Greenlee read the
minutes of the April meeting. The
mystery prize donated by Mrs.
Hazel Eaton was won by Mrs,
Eileen Carroll. After a business
meeting when plans were made
for a golden wedding banquet
coming up,
Rev. Savary showed slides on
their work in Japan. Mrs. Savary
served refreshments.
