The 1975 fashions for children, (who, by the way, stole the show) teens, men and women were modelled by local people and were lovely. The 1925 fashions worn by six members of the Friendship Unit and loaned by Theatre London, brought the house down! Owing to the unfortunate illness of the commentator, Mrs, Robert Stutt, Mrs. James Freeman of Holy Trinity Anglican Church agreed, on very short notice, to do this very important job. The members of the UCW are most grateful to her for a job well done. Piano music, in moods to suit the different models, was provided by Mrs. Clarence Hardy, also a member of Holy Trinity, so it proved to be quite an ecumenical evening. Guests were welcomed by president Mrs. Ross McRoberts and the various conveners in- cluded Mrs. Ivan Hearn in charge of models, Mrs. Eldon Young, refreshments, Mrs. George Carpenter, decorations with Mrs. McFalls, Mrs. Edythe Mugford, Mrs. Stanley Flood and Mrs. John MacDonald assisting the models in the feminine dressing room. Gary McFalls assisted in the men's dressing room. Mrs. M. H. Hodgins was the general convener. During intermission, Mrs. David Park conducted the draws for the door prizes and winners included:Diane Flood, sunglasses from Carpenter Optical, Exeter; Donald Smith, gift from Janice's Beauty Salon; Jean Hodgins, gift from Muriel Carling, Avon Rep.; Muriel Corbett, gift from Betty Hodgins, Avon Rep.'; Elinor Kestle, set from the Skylark Beauty Salon; Diane Goudy, set from Sharon's Beauty Salon; Bill Darling, set from Joyce's Beauty Salon; Linda Abel, gift certificate from Nicholson Flowers. Needless to say, the two gen- tlemen prize winners caused a bit of hilarity, but their wives will be the beneficiaries!
