Crediton wins
first contest
The Crediton juveniles opened
the 1975 Western Ontario Athletic
Association baseball season on a
winning note, Sunday.
The Crediton youngsters
travelled to Mitchell and came
away with a 14-5 victory.
The Crediton club will be back
in action this Sunday when they
travel to Clinton.
In Sunday's win over Mitchell,
Crediton scored four big runs in
the first inning and were never
headed as pitchers Larry Clarke
and Kevin Bestard held the home
team to five base hits.
In the first frame, Rodger
Finkbeiner's double and singles
from the bats of Keith Davey,
Noel Skinner and Doug Mclsaac
were responsible for the opening
Crediton outburst.
Kevin Bestard walked and
scored the fifth Crediton run in
the second inning and in the third
singles by Keith Davey and Doug
McIsaac upped the lead to 8-0.
Four more runs in the top of the
fifth increased the Crediton run
total to an even dozen before
Mitchell hit the scoreboard for
the first time with three markers
in the last of the fifth.
Pinch hitters Kevin Nixon and
Matt Muller singled and scored
the final Crediton runs in the
sixth and Mitchell added their
final two scores in the ninth in-
ning.

On a stretch of superhighway
where drivers used to speed to
Las Vegas, California highway
patrolmen have found an
alternative to just giving out
traffic tickets. Pace cars in
both lanes drive at the speed
limit, forcing cars to stay in
line behind them. Accidents
are way down.
Air pressure in your tires
(including the spare) should be
checked when they are cold,
before you've driven far.
Make it your first stop in the
morning.
Infant carrier for autos is
made of strong plastic, and is
held in place with the car's lap
belt. Flat bottom means it can
be used for baby outside of
car.
To protect yourself and your
passengers from carbon
monoxide poisoning, have ex-
ahust system checked for
looseness, rust and pinholes
each time car is serviced.
Your car's thermostat is
designed for all-weather driv-
ing. In the "old-days", you
would have had to have it
changed for summer driving.
SOME things are uatomatie on the
new cars, but they still depend on ex-
pert service to keep them running
right, You can rely on the master
mechanics at Larry Sniders head-
quarters for drivers who CARE about
their cars,
