The May meeting of the
Brinsley United Church Women
was held Wednesday evening,
May 7 in the church basement.
"When Mothers Of Salem" was
sung as the opening hymn,
followed by "A busy Mother's
Prayer" by Mrs, Dyck.
The scripture was read by
Mrs. Harvey Steeper and Viola
Lewis.
A poem "A Summer Creed"
and a story "Sensory Season"
was . given by Mrs. Jack
Trevithick.
What a Friend we have in
Mother" was sung. Mrs. George
Lee read a poem on "Kindliness"
followed by a reading
"Housekeeping" and prayer by
Mrs. George Prest.
Mrs. G. Lee presided over the
business. Roll call was answered
by 14 members. The date was
confirmed for the annual chicken
barbecue to be July 9.
Group 2 ladies served lunch.

The Cubs, under the leadership
of John Bierling, toured the
observatory at the University of
Western Ontario,
They showed their keen in-
terest by the questions they asked
the tour guide,
Last Saturday, after a fishing
expedition, they enjoyed a wiener
roast at their leader's home.
Jay offering their services , for
yard clean-up they are raising
money for camping ventures.
Paul Wein, Tom Blyde and
Barry Becker are trained as
assistants to help Mr. Bierling in
his work.
Ed Hendrick is a patient at
University Hospital.
Canvassers for the Flowers of
Hope campaign are calling on
homes in the village this week.
Mrs. Lloyd Roeszler is co-
ordinator of the campaign.

Rev. Harold Snell, Exeter, was
pastor for the Mothers' Day
service at Zion United Church,
Sunday.
The sacrament of baptism was

Mrs, Bob Galloway.
Grandmothers present went
forward to receive the gift of a
rose.

Rev. Armin Schlenker con-
ducted the evening service in the
Bluewater Rest Home Sunday.
Mr. & Mrs. Carmin Schlenker

companying them on the organ.
Mrs. Lorne Finkbeiner and
Linda Haugh flew to Saskatoon to
visit the Lambies. Bob Lambie,
