The April ACW meeting was
held at the home of Mrs. Harry
Carroll,
Mr. Savory took the chair for
the election of a president and
vice-president. Mrs. H. Davis is
the president for the remainder
of the year and Mrs. R, Carroll
vice-president.
The president took the chair for
the devotional period of prayer
and scripture reading by Mr.
Savary. He read from the 24th
chapter of St. Luke and he spoke
for a few minutes explaining the
chapter.
Business followed, money was
voted to a crippled friend, Plans
were made for an April 19
banquet.
Mrs. Ken Eaton won the
mystery prize, Mrs. Hugh Davis
showed slides of a Florida trip.
After the closing prayers the
hosess served refreshments.
Mrs. Hugh Davis, Mrs. Earl
Greenlee, Mrs. Bob Tindall
sponsored a bridal shower for
their niece Mrs. Stephen Flon-
ders nee Joan Barker, Friday
evening in the Parish Hall of St.
Patrick's church.
They were assisted by several
cousins and friends.
Mrs. Earl Greenlee welcomed
the cousins and neighbours and
conducted a bride contest. Mrs.
Elliott McRoberts, Exeter gave
a reading, Miss Wendy Elston,
Centralia accompanied by Mrs.
Dave Elston, London sang, Mrs.
Hugh Davis read the address in
verse. Joan assisted by her sister
Jean and Walda Van Geel and
Nancy Tindall, Marylou Tindall
and RuthHardy opened her many
beautiful and useful gifts.
Joan thanked everyone and the
