Dobson in charge. His sermon topic was, "Trust and Over- come" The choir sang "Christ is Risen" and a solo "The Holy City" was sung by Mrs. Ralph McKinnon. 4-H sewers get together The "Sewing Sunsets" 4-H girls held their sixth meeting in the town hall Wednesday evening with six girls and two leaders present. Roll call was to "Show com- pleted page showing your planned costume." Leaders demonstrated darts, seams, and seam finishes. `The Match Makers" 4-H girls held their seventh meeting at the home of Mrs. Jack Smeekens with seven girls and two leaders present. Roll call was "One way you have learned to improve your wardrobe," Leaders discussed with the girls how their blouses could be improved. Personals Mr, & Mrs, Don Hendrick, Pam and Paul of Wyoming, Mr, & Mrs. Lanny Scrimegour, Jeff and Angela of London spent Sunday with the girls parents Mr. & Mrs. Elgin Adams. Mrs. Susie Devine visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Ervin Devine. Deb Ford and other classmates from South Huron District High School have returned from an eight day trip to Cuba. Glenda and Tammy Morenz visited Tuesday with their aunt and uncle Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Morenz. Mr. & Mrs, Jack Holt and family of Gananoque spent a few days last week visiting relatives - and friends in this area. Weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Johnson were their two daughters Mr. & Mrs. Duncan McVittie and Robin of Southampton and Mr. & Mrs. Don McArthur of Port Elgin. ELIMVILLE Ruth Skinner and Mrs. Don Parsons were in charge of the Easter meeting of the Elimville UCW, Scripture was read by Mrs. Ross Skinner and Mrs. Floyd Cooper read a poem "What is Easter." Mrs. Parsons gave the Easter thoughts and Ruth Skinner read a poem. Roll call was answered by "An Easter custom in another country." Plans were made to cater to Exeter Rebekah dinner on Wednesday April 2, Fulton- Kerslake wedding, April 12 and Exeter Minor Hockey banquet at Kirkton May 2. The purchase of two Easter lilies and an invitation to Zion UCW was accepted. Mrs. Howard Pym and Mrs. Elson Lynn gave the report of the Huron-Perth Presbyterial meeting at Listowel. Mrs. Philip Johns announced the Sellwoods will be coming to Elimville United Church Sunday April 20th. They will assist in the morning service at 11:15 a.ni. and will present a Gospel hour at 7:30 p.m. A pot luck dinner will follow the morning service. Final euchre party On Monday evening, the final card party of the season was held at the Usborne Township Hall, Elimville. There were seven tables in play. The winners were ladies' high, Mrs. Myrtle Doupe; men's high, Lawrence Beckett; lone hands, Mrs. Agnes Davis. 25th wedding anniversary A group of friends and relatives gathered Saturday evening in honour of Mr. & Mrs. John Batten's 25th wedding an- niversary. They shivareed them and then returned to Usborne Township Hall, Elimville for a game of euchre. The winners were: ladies' high, Helen Bell; ladies low, Linda Gerst.enkorn; men's high, George Kellett; men's low;Mike Hunter; lone hands, Alvin Cooper. Nine new members joined the church on Profession of Faith namely:-Karen Ilodgson, Vicki Lewis, Victor Dyck, Karl Robinson, Bradley Morley, Stephen Dixon, Bradley Dixon, Jeff Dixon, and Marilyn Kemp, followed by Communion later in the service. Persona Is Gayle and Dale Fenton and Cindy Prest presented a musical show for Green Gables No. 2 residence Saturday evening. The sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Mrs. Windsor and family in the passing of her husband, Wilfred Windsor, Monday. Mrs. Lois Whittard, Niagara- on-the-Lake, was home with her father on Easter Sunday. Confirmation at Greenway By MANUEL CURTS A confirmation service was held during the Easter service in the United Church on Sunday. Those confirmed were Ann Steeper, Laurie Woodburn, Jeffery Isaac, Glen Bullock, Eric Bullock, Orno Adair and Paul Lagerwerf. Mrs. Annie Sherritt entertained several relatives at a birthday dinner in honor of her brother, Russell MacGregor, on Saturday evening. Mr. & Mrs. Clare Reid spent the Easter weekend with their daughter and family in Mississauga. Sherry Prout, Exeter, was an Easter visitor with her friend Elsie Schofield. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Smithers, London, were dinner guests with the Curts here, Sunday. Milton Pollock, who has been a patient in St, Joseph's Hospital, London, during the past week, is expected home shortly. Mrs. Harvey Tweddle arrived home last week from University Hospital, London. The Easter lily placed in the front of the church Sunday was in memory of Mrs. Rose Maguire given by her three daughters. Bonnie Watson, London, was home with her parents over the weekend, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hodgins, Strathroy, was Wednesday dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Fred Lewis. Mrs. John Levine is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London, ,since last Tuesday. Bill Prest returned to Lindsay after spending the Easter, weekend with- his parents Mr. & Mrs. George Prest and Cindy. Workmen from Toronto were drilling for soil samples near the tower in McGillivray Township in preparation for building a reservoir in the future, Mr. •& Mrs. George Reath of Mt. Brydges were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Ambrose Koricina and family. Elsie Morley of Exeter visited with Mr. & Mrs. Kelly Robinson and family over the Easter weekend.
