Special Easter service was
observed in the United church
Sunday morning with Rev. H.
Dobson in charge. His sermon
topic was, "Trust and Over-
come"
The choir sang "Christ is
Risen" and a solo "The Holy
City" was sung by Mrs. Ralph
McKinnon.
4-H sewers get together
The "Sewing Sunsets" 4-H girls
held their sixth meeting in the
town hall Wednesday evening
with six girls and two leaders
present.
Roll call was to "Show com-
pleted page showing your
planned costume." Leaders
demonstrated darts, seams, and
seam finishes.
`The Match Makers" 4-H girls
held their seventh meeting at the
home of Mrs. Jack Smeekens
with seven girls and two leaders
present.
Roll call was "One way you
have learned to improve your
wardrobe," Leaders discussed
with the girls how their blouses
could be improved.

Easter meeting of the Elimville
UCW,
Scripture was read by Mrs.
Ross Skinner and Mrs. Floyd
Cooper read a poem "What is
Easter." Mrs. Parsons gave the
Easter thoughts and Ruth
Skinner read a poem.
Roll call was answered by "An
Easter custom in another
country."
Plans were made to cater to
Exeter Rebekah dinner on
Wednesday April 2, Fulton-
Kerslake wedding, April 12 and
Exeter Minor Hockey banquet at
Kirkton May 2.
The purchase of two Easter
lilies and an invitation to Zion
UCW was accepted. Mrs. Howard
Pym and Mrs. Elson Lynn gave
the report of the Huron-Perth
Presbyterial meeting at
Listowel.
Mrs. Philip Johns announced
the Sellwoods will be coming to
Elimville United Church Sunday
April 20th. They will assist in the
morning service at 11:15 a.ni.
and will present a Gospel hour at
7:30 p.m. A pot luck dinner will
follow the morning service.
Final euchre party
On Monday evening, the final
card party of the season was held
at the Usborne Township Hall,
Elimville. There were seven
tables in play. The winners were
ladies' high, Mrs. Myrtle Doupe;
men's high, Lawrence Beckett;
lone hands, Mrs. Agnes Davis.
25th wedding anniversary
A group of friends and relatives
gathered Saturday evening in
honour of Mr. & Mrs. John
Batten's 25th wedding an-
niversary. They shivareed them
and then returned to Usborne
Township Hall, Elimville for a
game of euchre.
The winners were: ladies' high,
Helen Bell; ladies low, Linda
Gerst.enkorn; men's high, George
Kellett; men's low;Mike Hunter;
lone hands, Alvin Cooper.
John and Ola were called to the
front and were presented with
many lovely gifts.
A niece, Trudy Johns played
several piano selections.

later in the service.

residence Saturday evening.
The sympathy of the com-
munity is extended to Mrs.
Windsor and family in the
passing of her husband, Wilfred
Windsor, Monday.

father on Easter Sunday.

the United Church on Sunday.

Jeffery Isaac, Glen Bullock, Eric
Bullock, Orno Adair and Paul
Lagerwerf.
Mrs. Annie Sherritt entertained
several relatives at a birthday
dinner in honor of her brother,
Russell MacGregor, on Saturday
evening.
Mr. & Mrs. Clare Reid spent
the Easter weekend with their
daughter and family in
Mississauga.
Sherry Prout, Exeter, was an
Easter visitor with her friend
Elsie Schofield.
Mr. & Mrs. Ken Smithers,

Milton Pollock, who has been a
patient in St, Joseph's Hospital,
London, during the past week, is
expected home shortly.
