Steer 4f This Way BY LARRY SNIDER Here's something to think about— when was the last time you checked the air pressure in your spare? Alarming news out of Russia: now that automobiles are easier to get, the accident rate jumped 85.5% in the first seven months of last year. Speeding is listed as the biggest cause, with drunk driv- ing involved in some 25% of the accidents. All the auto companies have endorsed continuation of the 55-mph speed limit. If it becomes the long-time stan- dard, they'll probably stop making cars capable of going over 100 mph. Do you have a fire ex- tinguisher in your car? Keep it handy in the passenger com- partment.
