Roll call was answered by "A Health Habit I Will Follow!' The 4-Fl girls introduced themselves and their mothers. A greeting card from Dorothy Marshall of Crediton, England and one from the child sponsored by the Institute were passed around. There -was a letter of appreciation from Mrs. Wilfred Mack, and an invitation to attend a meeting of the Grand Bend group. It was decided to donate to a special project of the Exeter Fall Fair, and to hold Family Night Tuesday March 18, with supper at 7 p.m. Kathleen Gielen was chosen to represent the Institute as princess at the London Farm Show. The 4-H girls provided the program with Darlene Collett in the chair. June Sullivan played a piano solo. Shirley Weber and Kathleen Gielen reviewed the highlights of their tour of the, University of Guelph last sum- mer. Club I presented a skit, Valerie Finkbeiner gave a reading "The 4-H Girl," and ffathy Davey gave an accordion solo. Songs sung were "The 4-H Spirit," and "I'm Looking over a 4-H Clover." Mrs. Brian Hodgins, guest speaker; talked on "Hairdressing for Homemakers," using her sister, Barbara Mitchell as model. Mrs. Kenney and Mrs. Gerald Dearing gave special recognition to the winners of county honours, Elizabeth Bender, Darlene Collett, Kathy Dinney, Maureen Muller, Cindy Eveland, Joan Hodge and Denise Glavin; and to winners of provincial honours, Shelley Weber, Kathleen Gielen and Mary Agnes Dietrich, Special recognition was also made of Mrs. Barry Clarke's completion of 18 clubs. At last week's meeting of 4-H club 5 leaders Mrs. William Muller, Mrs, Glenn Hodgins and 18 girls were present, Members were shown how to stretch fabric and lay out patterns for proper cutting. For the next- meeting books are to be ready for in- spection by Jane Pengilley, Home Economist. Persona Is Ernie Whiteford has returned home after a three-week stay in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Joe McCann is a patient at Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. & Mrs.William Averal have returned from a three-week vacation that took them to Fort Myers, Disney World, Orlando and Bradenton, Florida, and to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Fort Myers was a favourite spot to which the Averills hope to return for another visit. In Brandenton they visited Mrs. Averill's sister-in-law. Mr. & Mrs. Will Oestricher attended the funeral of Roy Pepper in Clinton Sunday. Dashwood Men's Club- "' Dashwood Men's club held their monthly dinner meeting Monday, February 24, ,with , farmers as guests. There were S5 in attendance. The guest speaker was Carl Hnilica, of the CNA insurance company, speaking on insurance. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan attended a gift show in Toronto over the weekend. Mr. & Mrs. Oluf Pedersen, who are both celebrating birthdays this week received the following telegram from their son, Sgt. Loric Pedersen, who is on duty in Tel Aviv, Isreal "Happy birthday mom and dad," love, Loric. Mrs. Karen Nolan California, arrived by plane, in London, Tuesday, to spend some time with Mr. & Mrs. Oluf Pedersen and family. , Mrs. Jessie Rader and Mrs. Greta Schade have returned home following a two week tour of Florida. They accompanied Mrs. Gwen Rader and children to Florida returning by plane. Rev. Bruce Guy is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Maine, Kitchener, were weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Reinhold Miller, '4-H meeting Dashwood 4-H girls Club No, 2 held their second meeting at Dashwood Community centre with 14 girls present. All the girls agreed to call the club "Busy Basters." Styles to suit the figure and the line of the garment were discussed, The girls brought fabric samples which they ex- changed with each other and observed.
