IN MEMORIAM-
I3110ADPOOT - In loving memory
of a dear husband and grandpa, Ross,
who passed away one year ago,
February 22, 1974.
We often think of days gone by
When we were all together;
A shadow o'er our lives has cast,
Our loved one's gone forever,
Lovingly remembered by wife
Mary and daughters Joyce, Edna,
Margaret, Jean and families. 8p
LAMMIE - In loving memory of a
dear husband, father and grand-
father, Ray, who passed away four
years ago, February 20.
God took him home, it was His will
But in our hearts we love him still;
His memory is as dear today
As in the hour he passed away.
We often sit and think of him
When we are all alone
For memory is the only friend
That grief can call its own.
Always remembered by wife Vera,
children and grandchildren. 8c
MILLER - In fond memory of a
dear father, Brian Derek, who pass-
ed away so suddenly eight years ago
on February 23, 1967.
Behind a smile there is many a tear.
For the Dad I lost and loved so dear
Others were taken; yes, I know,
But he was mine and I loved him so.
Lovingly remembered and sadly
missed by daughter Deb. 8c
MILLER - In memory of a dearly
beloved father, Brian Derek, who
passed away suddenly eight years
ago on February 23, 1967.
Eight years is a long time
To be without you,
It's too long a time
But this can't he helped.
I just wanted to tell you
That I loved you very much,
I wanted you to know
That I really miss you.
I hope I'm doing it right
I haven't goofed it up,
I guess you know what's on my mind,
Would you tell me what to do,
I hope you are proud of me
And the way I turned out to be,
I tried my best to do the things
That you would have wanted me to
do.
I've got a little problem
I don t know what I should do,
But I try to figure it out
The way you would have handled it.
I wish you could help me
Figure it out,
I'm sorry that you can't Dad
So I'll try it on my own.
With many loving thoughts from a
loving son, Derek. 8c
STIRE - In loving memory of 'thy
dear parents, Emma Stire, February
24, 1971, John Stire, August 26, 1956.
A million words can never express
The heartaches, sadness and
loneliness,
Memory lane is a ,lonely' lane
Here thoughts are never true
Along this way we often stray
Because it leads to both of you.
Lovingly remembered by son Sid
and daughter-in-law Edith, daughter
Ruby and son-in-law Bud. 8p
Five convictions
on lengthy docket
Although there was a full
docket for Tuesday's Provincial

The stiffest penalty handed out
by Provincial Judge Glenn Hays
was for impaired driving. Stanley

Columbia, was fined $150 and
given a three month licence
suspension. He was found guilty
of being impaired on February 10
driving in Hay Township.

of 18 cost John Bradley Laven-
der, 107 Queen St., Hensall $53 for
the February 17 offence.
Debra J. Finkbeiner, RR 1,
Crediton, was fined $53 for having
possession of liquor under the age

Name Kellerman
to advisory board
A former Dashwood man, John
Kellerman has been named to an
advisory board to aid the
government on policy for the
physically handicapped.
The 19 member board was
appointed by Margaret Birch,
Ontario social development
secretary and is headed by
Edward Dunlop, former
Progressive Conservative
member of the Ontario
Legislature for York-Forest Hill
and president of the Toronto Sun.
The board will review policies
in education, employment,
rehabilitation, income, main.
tenance, health,housing, tran-
SportatiOn and recreation in their
effect on the handicapped.
It will also promote op-
portunities for self-help for
the province's more than 500,000
physically handicapped,
The village of Grand Bend is
planning on charging ratepayers
for garbage collection services
in 1975,
A schedule of proposed rates in
four different categories is
posted in the clerk's office and
may be examined by any
business outlet to determine if
they are placed in the proper
classification.
Each residential taxpayer will
pay $15 per year while a light
commercial property will be
charged $50 perannum a medium
commercial outlet will be
assessed $100 and heavy com-
Work is presently being done to
bring cable television to Exeter.
The facilities will be fully
operational by fall, according to
Bluewater Cable manager Bruce
Davie.
Last week engineering work
was being done in town. Some of
this involved stringing wire on
PUC poles. Some of the
requirements for cable TV have
not been finalized as yet, said Mr.
Davie,
Among these are the location
for tower facilities to receive
television signals, and to find a
facility for a local production
studio.
Row house plan
goes to planners
The Exeter planning board will
be asked to come up with
recommendations regarding the
proposal for two condominium
projects planned in the com-
munity,
Paul and Marilyn Hohner
appeared before council this
week to get details about the
possibility of opening Sanders St.
West at Marlboro St. to facilitate
the erection of a new home and
also a proposed subdivision in
which they are considering
erecting row houses.
Hohner said there was room in
the area between Marlboro and
the railroad tracks for 16 to 18
lots. He explained that his
proposed subdivision was very
much in the planning stages.
,However, ,,,the. couple did in-
dicate a desire to build a home for
themselves and wondered what
street,
sinvolved in extending the et
They were advised to take the
matter up with the planning
board.
Later in the meeting, clerk
Eric Carscadden said an area
contractor was considering the
erection of row houses in an area
east of Edward St. and south of
Huron.
He advised the principals in-
volved to take that matter up
with planning board as well.
A meeting of the board is
planned for Tuesday night.
RAP will hire
another full-time
RAP chairman Jack Under-
wood advised Exeter council
Monday that they were in the
process of hiring a full-time
secretary-treasurer.
He said the position had been
offered to Elizabeth Varley who
presently works on a part-time
basis,
Negotiations are continuing
with her, Underwood explained,
At their meeting last week,
RAP excused Mrs. Varley from
the session and went into a
committee-of-the-whole at which
time the press was not allowed to
print any of the discussion.
A motion passed at the end of
the closed session did not indicate
what negotiations were being
conducted with Mrs. Varley.
RAP's request for a second
$5,000 grant on this year's budget
was approved la ter in the
meeting by council.
Underwood also advised that
the 1975 budget would probably
be approved at the March
meeting.

In order to have the drain

Lease not accepted
Council learned Monday night
that a riverfront lease offered to
Manore's Marine at the January
13 meeting had not yet been
accepted.
The lease to cover 400 feet of
bank along the Ausable River
within the village limits was
offered to Manore's solicitor
Philip Walden of Thedford. The
lease was for a four year term
but held some restrictions.
The lease provides that the
operator provide a good standard
of service to the public patroniz-
ing the facilities and that sub-
lessees shall not be required to
purchase any articles, repairs or
materials from the lessee.
The village also reserves the
right to terminate the agreement
in the event council proceeds
with a Harbour Commission
affecting the said lands.
