Finkbeiner, 4-H Club I held their
meeting Saturday morning in the
community centre.
The girls chose the name Super
Sewers. They discussed patterns
and material colour design and
texture, For the next meeting,
the girls are to bring patterns and
materials. Pattern alteration will
be discussed.
Explorers
The Explorers Group have
finished an embroidery project,
decorating tea towels. Next they
plan to build film boxes on which
they can record what they learn
during the meetings.
A project for Bunny Bundle is
in the future.
Mrs. John Stewart has joined
the volunteers who help the
leader Mrs. Donald Finkbeiner.
Persona Is
Rev. John Reid, London,
brought a message on worship in
spirit and in truth at Zion United
Church Sunday morning. A letter
of encouragement from Rev.
Bruce Pierce was read to the
congregation.
Everyone was present for the
first meeting of the 4-H Club No.
4. Members received their books
and information, elected officers
and learned how to take
measurements, following the
subject "Planning the War-
drobe." At the second meeting
the club name "The Swinging
Shirttails," suggested by
Suzanne Clarke was chosen.
Under the topic "Suiting
Yourself" the girls discussed
different kinds of fabric.
Mr. & Mrs. Norm Moloy and
Mr. & Mrs. John Walker have
returned from a week's Carib-
bean cruise visiting at Puerto
Rico, St. Thomas and Jamaica.
Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Lithgow
spent several days last week
visiting relatives at Hamilton and
Kitchener.
Mr, & Mrs. Robt. Stubbs with
their son and Mrs. Joyce Ross
and Mr. & Mrs. Donnie Wilcox
have returned home from a three
week holiday trip to Florida.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Prance have
returned from a holiday trip to
Florida of 5,000 miles.

A pot luck dinner was served by
Group 2 of the Ladies Aid
following Rev. Morgret's
farewell sermon Sunday,
February 16 to about 100 people.
He was presented a gift of money.
The Morgrets are moving to
Delhi.
4-H meeting
Dashwood 4-H girls club No.
2 held their first meeting
February 11 at the community
centre. Fourteen girls and the
leaders Mrs. Earl Keller and
Mrs. Ray Rader attended.
Officers for the project "What
shall I wear? are, president,
Sandra Schroeder; vice-
president, Joan Finkbeiner;
secretary Jayne Hayter; Susan
Fischer, press reporter.
Equipment in the sewing room
and contents of the sewing box
were discussed. Fabric samples
were given to the girls.
U CW meeting
The February meeting of
Calvary United church was held
February 2 with the Literature
and Communication group in
charge and Mrs. Leroy
Gowanloch, chairlady.
The theme was "Jesus the
Divine Companion." Mrs. Syd
Baker read a meditation thought
on "the Home in Bethany, Ah, the
kitchen." "Recipe for Hap-
piness" was read by Mrs.
Mildred Kellerman; second
speaker "Our Daily Bread" by
Mrs. E, R. Guenther; third
speaker "Vitamins" by Mrs.
Jack Gaiser. A prayer poem was
read by Mrs. E, R. Guenther. A
duet, "Have I done my best for
Jesus?" was sung by Mrs. Gerald
Mason and Mrs. Jack Gaiser.
Mrs, Mervyn Tieman,
president, dealt with the
business, The roll call was ans-
wered by16 members. The UCW
will visit the Bluewaters Rest
Home March 12.
Ladies Aid
The monthly meeting of Zion
Lutheran Ladies Aid was held
Wednesday February 12
following the Lenten sermon by
Rev. Frank Morgret. It was
taken from the 26th chapter of
Matthew and concerned Jesus'
words to his disciples in the
Garden of Gethsemane.
Mrs. Arnold Becker, president,
dealt with the business. Fourteen
members answered the roll call.
The Altar Guild reported 18 visits
and two flower arrangements
were sent. The new Guild is Mrs.
Reinhold Miller and Mrs. Erna
Schroeder.
The two weddings in May will
be catered to by the Aid, An in-
vitation from Calvary United
Church Women to attend their
October meeting was accepted.
Mrs. Morgret was presented a
gift prior to leaving the com-
munity. The Lord's prayer
hrnnuht the meeting to a close.
4-H executive elected

About 45 people sat down to a
bountiful meal, when the
Elimville Women's Institute
entertained their husbands to a
pot luck supper and program on
February 12. The tables were
decorated in red and white for
Valentines Day. Mrs. Howard
Pym welcomed the husbands to
the meeting.
Mrs,Gilbert Johns read a
couple of humorous stories. Mrs.
Murray Coward, Mrs. Ron
Fletcher and Mrs.Eric Clayburn
arranged a game of charades
which was enjoyed by everyone.
Mrs. Ross Skinner introduced
Mr. Clarence Down of Exeter
who showed slides of a recent trip
abroad. It included Germany,
Switzerland, and France. Mrs.
Howard Pym led in a sing song.
After more slides were viewed
Mrs. Skinner thanked Mr. Down
and presented him with a gift.
Mrs. Johns read a Valentine
poem.
A short business meeting
followed. It was decided to accept
Grand Bend's invitation for
March, and to send a delegate to
the Officer's Conference at
Waterloo April 29 to May 1. The
evening closed with God Save the
Queen.
I 4-H girls was held on February
10 at the home of the leader Mrs.
Violet Bender. Eleven girls were
present.
Mrs. Jack Riddell has offered
her assistance for the project
"What shall I wear".
The election of officers were
held:- president, Donna Riddell;
vice-president, Brenda Kipfer;
secretary, Judy Mason and press
reporter, Susan Grigg. The topic
for this ,meeting was Planning A
Wardrobe,'
The second meeting was held
on February 17 also at Mrs.
Violet Bender's. Snappy Stitchers
will be the club name. The topic
for this meeting was "Suiting
Yourself" which dealt with
colour, texture and line in fabric
and pattern.
The next meeting will be held
on February 24 at Mrs. Jack
Riddell's. The members are to
have their material and pattern
for their blouse.
Persona Is
Mrs. Stuart Wolfe was
pleasantly surprised on the oc-
casion of her birthday Wed-
nesday February 12 when her
children all of London gathered
with her and Stuart. Present
were Mr. & Mrs. Eric Wolfe, Tim
and Tracey; Mr. & Mrs. Tom
Wolfe; and Mr. & Mrs. John
Parker.
Supper guests with Mr. & Mrs.
Stuart Wolfe, Sunday were Mr. &
Mrs. Bob Hamather and family,
Zurich and Mrs. Henry Eagleson.

Cotton Capers collect
The second meeting of
theElimville III girls washeld on
February 10. It was held at the
home of Mrs. Colleen . Clayburn.
The roll call was "From your
Person Analysis, tell what your
activities are." It was decided
to use thelname "Cotton Capers".
Discussion was on basic colors
and the title "Suit Yourself."
The third meeting was held on
February 17 at the home of Mrs.
Kathy Simpson. The roll call was
"Show your blouse pattern and
fabric and explain why you chose
them. "There were onlynine girls
there to answer the roll call.
Colleen read from the book
"What shall I wear?" Also
discussed were three kinds of
clothing, Kathy showed how to
properly set up a pattern. The
next meeting is February 24.

Mr. & Mrs. Allan Johns returned
home from a week's vacation in
Cuba. While Mr. & Mrs. Howard
Johns were gone Mr. & Mrs.
Steven Johns and Michael stayed
with Laura and Mary Johns.
