A third period decision Two goals in the third period were enough to give the Jets their 5-3 win in Durham Sunday af- ternoon. Each team had scored two goals in the first period and the Jets scored the only goal of the middle frame. The game was only a minute old when Steve Proctor hit the mark on passes from Larry Haugh and Doug Galloway. It took Durham veteran Jim Aitken only 36 seconds to tie the score. Jamie Robb fired the eventual winning goal at 3.16 as he took a pass from Rick Fifield on a hard shot right along the ice. About four minutes later, Dick Doughty combined with Pete Loveless and Jack Nairn to give the Jets a two goal bulge. Immediately after Doughty's successful shot, he was slashed across the face by Joe Grundy of the Huskies. Grundy received a five minute slashing assessment and a match penalty. Sonny Pennington was in goal for the Jets and turned in a strong performance. Another good third period It was the same story for the Jets in Friday's win over the Screaming Eagles with three goals in the third period. Rick Fifield scored the winning goal at the 25 second mark of the third period as he tipped in a shot by Jim Blake. Jamie Robb also assisted. Less than a minute later, Steve Proctor assured the victory as he completed a play with Don Carter and Terry Johnston.
