Coming Event type of publicity is

IN MEMORIAM —
CUTTING — In loving memory of a
dear mother who passed away one
year ago, January 5.
God looked around His garden
And found an empty space
He then looked upon this earth
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best.
Sadly missed and always
remembered by son Jack and
Eileen. 3c
LATTA — In loving memory of our
dear parents and grandparents, Gus
and Ethel. Mother who died January
8, 1972, and father who died January
22, 1971.
Time unfolds another year
But memories keep them ever near.
No need for words except to say
Still loved and missed in every way.
Always remembered by Ervin,
Vera and family. 3p
MITCHELL — In loving memory of a
dear wife, mother and grandmother,
Gladys Mitchell, who passed away
January 17, 1974.
Broken is the family circle
Our dear one has passed away.
Though her smile is gone forever
And her hand we cannot touch
Still we have so many memories
Of the one we loved so much,
If memory is our keepsake
With which we'll never part
God has her in His keeping
We have her in our heart.
Lovingly remembered and sadly
missed by husband Stanley, family
and grandchildren. 3p

To the Editor
You are aware, no doubt, that
the theme for the nationwide
observance of National
Education Week on Smoking is -
"Non-Smokers Have Rights
Too!" The dates are January 11-
18, 1975.
We are making an effort to
acquaint our community with the
scientific evidence which shows
that cigarette smoke can be
harmful to non-smokers. Studies
in smoke filled rooms indicate
that the level of carbon monoxide
may be in excess of the legal
limits for air pollution. Exposure
to such concentrations of CO, can
be a hazard to people suffering
from allergies,- heart and
respiratory conditions.
Many people with none of the
above conditions are discom-
forted by tobacco smoke. So it is
increasingly important to protect
non-smokers, especially in en-
closed public places, public
conveyances and in many work
situations. Smoking and Health
Week should be considered
"Consideration Week" - con-
sideration of non-smokers who
may be discomforted by tobacco
smoke.
We have asked the co-operation
of municipal and county councils
in the area, in proclaiming the
week "Non-Smoking" or
"Consideration Week". We hope
they will ratify the "Non-
Smokers Bill of Rights" for-
warded to them.
We regret that one of the Town
Councils has denied the
proclamation and has criticized
this type of preventive
programme. This programme
would cost us very little and our
hard working Education Com-
mittee still believes that "an
ounce of prevention is worth a
pound of cure."
Our Association is composed of
concerned citizens froM all areas
of the two counties. They give
many volunteer hours to the
Association and its work. The
implied- criticism of their
judgment is unjustified. Funds
are not spent on publicity per se.
