HUGH MOkENZ SHIPKA On Sunday Mr. :& Mrs. Henry Becker attended the 55th wedding anniversary party for Mr. & Mrs. Frank Triebner of Exeter, and also visited with Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Hendrick in Exeter. Keith Snyder is at present in Guelph finishing an eight week course in auto mechanics, Mr, & Mrs. Gus Van Massenhoven, Anita, Ronnie and Michael, visited Friday evening in Parkhill with Mr. & Mrs. Joe Ansens and family, Edwin Snyder spent the weekend in Owen Sound at a Youth Rally. Recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Desjardine, Lee, Harvey and Carleen at Huron Park were Mrs. Mabel Desjar- dine, Earl Stebbins, Mrs. Trellis Little, of Dashwood, Lesa Dugas of Grand Bend and Colleen Little of Exeter, Harvey Desjardine, grandson of Mrs. Mabel Desjardine, who is with the Canadian Armed For- ces, just returned to Canada after several months service in Cyprus and Germany. He spent a month visiting with his parents and other relatives and is now stationed in Edmonton, Alberta. Mrs. Florence Hendrick of Exeter spent a couple days last week with her brother and sister- in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Turnbull. Real meaning of Lord's Prayer Units I and 2 of the Exeter UCW held their regular meeting Thursday afternoon, January 9. The topic of the meeting was the real meaning of the Lord's Prayer and was taken by. Mrs. H. Murray. She dealt with the part of the prayer from Our Father to "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" and pointed out that we can all say the prayer but can we really live it. World peace is said to start in the Christian Home but the individual in that home must put Christ first in her heart and life. The Bible reading from Mat- thew was taken by Mrs. Wm. Thompson. Miss Ann Brodie played a piano selection. The meeting was followed. by a social hour. The day our first child was born, my husband was ecstatic — and his concern for me was truly tender. Five years later, after the birth of our fourth son, he was somewhat more casual. He walked into my hospital room after work and, seeing me for the first time since delivery, he slumped into the chair next to my bed and exclaimed, ' "Whew! What a day I've had!" Mrs, Henry Becker visited relatives in Kitchener last Thursday. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Vincent attended the funeral last Tuesday. of their aunt Mrs. Reinhard Heckman at Exeter. Visitors on the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Ken Baker .Sr, were Mr, & Mrs. Tony Regier of Detroit, Mr, & Mrs. Ken Baker jr., Bonnie, Tracey and Shellie of Stratford. MR, AND MRS, FRANK TRIEBNER Sunday, January 12 marked the celebration of the 55th wedding an- niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Triebner, 518 William St, S., Exeter. The family surprised them with an open house celebration at their home when friends and relatives dropped by to convey their best wishes. Lunch was served by their daughter-in-law and grandchildren while their sons received the guests.
