At last week's meeting it was
decided to hold an election for the
position of co-leader. In order to
have a successful election we
need everyone at the meeting to
voice their opinion. A vote will be
taken at the next meeting,
December 18 so remember and
come prepared.
A very good attendance during
the month of November has
resulted in the Lucan girls
beating the Exeter girls by a
whopping 69 points so maybe, if
we keep up the good work, Exeter
girls can entertain us for a
change.
A number of contests are in full
swing with some of the girls as
co-ordinators to look after the
points. It was decided in the
Jewelry contest, the girls must
keep their five pound weight loss
off for a month before being
awarded the jewelry.
All members are asked to be
involved in helping with our quilt.
Remember it is for the benefit of
everyone, so let's all do our fair
share and not leave all the work
to a few.
That's all for this month, so see
you lighter next month.

Explorers hold
ceremony
While reading the Christmas
stories from Matthew and Luke,
in unison, members of the Lucan-
Clandeboye Explorer group
assembled the manger scene at
the altar of the Lucan United
Church. While Mary, Joseph and
the Baby in the manger were
being placed, the girls sang
"Away in a Manger". As the
shepherds, sheep and other
animals were added they sang
"While Shepherds Watched Their
Flocks by Night". During the
singing of "Wisemen Seeking
Jesus", the wisemen and their
camels were added to the scene.
Mary Madden offered a
Christmas prayer.
In a special ceremony, five
members received their first red
star, picture and pin and two
others had earned their first blue
star. To earn their second blue
star these girls will compile a
scrapbook showing the "Wonders
of God's World", to be in by the
end of February.
Chief Counsellor, Mrs. William
Froats, showed a filmstrip "The
Friendly Beasts" and the
members sang a song of the same
name telling what each animal
brought as a gift to Jesus,
followed by more carol singing.
This was the last Expedition for
1974 but the members were asked
to invite their parents and friends
to attend the annual C.G.I.T.
