The seach for a scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions. Don't be troubled if the temp- tation to give advice is irresistible; the ability to ignore it is universal. Worry is a circle of inefficient thoughts whirling about a point of fear, Separate school teachers in Huron and Perth will be en- couraged by the Huron-Perth County Roman Catholic Separate School board to attend family life courses at Waterloo University during the summer holiday period with the board paying their tuition fees. The special training is required for the teachers to instruct their students in the family life course which the board started last spring for Grade 8 students and hopes to continue again this school term and even expanding it. At the board meeting in Seaforth Tuesday night (post- poned from Monday because of Remembrance Day) Trustee Vincent Young of Goderich outlined the recommendations to the board from the Family Life Advisory o y Committee which in- el — that the family life course be continued at the Grade 8 level over an extended period of time in order to provide more op- portunity for greater indepth discussion and presentation; + that a pilot project be initiated in grade 7 in at least one school; ' + that serious consideration be given to the engagement of a co- ordinator to integrate religion, guidance and health in con- junction with family life; + that if a co-ordinator is engaged, consideration be given to a pilot project in the primary division, tha teachers continue to be encouraged by the board to at- tend family life courses. "If the program is to be a success, we need a co-ordinator," Mr. Young stated and Superin- tendent of Education John Vintar said he agreed. While agreeing with the need of a co-ordinator, Howard Shantz of Stratford said he hoped the program would get started earlier this year, "We seem to wait so long to get going on it," he stated, The board will apply to the carrier of the board's group in- surance plan for $50,000 ad- ditional term insurance on the life of Mr. Vintar to replace the personal policy for the same amount with another company, In the meantime the board will renew the existing policy for $50,000 term insurance for the period October 17 to December 31, 1974 until the first request is approved. The board approved the working drawing and specification presented by ar- chitect Brian Garratt of Kyles, Kyles and Garratt, for the 2,000 square foot addition of a library resource centre at St. Patrick's School at Kinkora, which is estimated to cost $50,000. Mr. Shantz, chairman of the by- law committee, presented the trustees with a number of changes in the by-laws covering board policy which included the rule covering the number of trustees to attend conferences, and the appointment of a hiring NOTICE To The Separate School Electors in the Township of McGillivray For The Huron-Perth Separate School Board REGULAR POLLING DAY Monday, December 2, 1974 Poll at McGillivray Township Hall From 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Poll Open In The McGillivray Township Hall 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. William Amos Clerk - a = fiar—ailmk filocleir-.
