Back resolution over containers Exeter council this week concurred with a resolution from the Township of March urging the government to encourage greater use of returnable containers and thereby reduce the present waste of such materials and the resources which are required to produce them. The resolution suggested that when the metric system is adopted, all glass containers should be in standard sizes and reduce the great variety now in existence. In addition, their suggestion was that governments enforce rules requiring that products be put in reusable containers when possible. "It makes a lot of sense," commented Councillor Bruce Shaw. While he supported the resolution, Councillor Ben Hoogenboom opined that "I don't think you'll get anywhere." WHAT'S DOING?
