They had a discussion on table service and Rose Kelders demonstrated how to set up a buffet table setting. Home assignment was to make some small cakes or cookies. Mr. & Mrs. Art Webb spent several days recently visiting with their son and family Mr. & Mrs. Don Webb of Essex. Dr. and Mrs. C,B. Sanders of Welland visited Tuesday with her father, Art Finkbeiner, who is-a patient at South Huron hospital. Charlie Bracken of Green Acres is a patient at South Huron Hospital at Exeter. Several ladies gathered at the home of Mrs. Roy Morenz Thursday evening for a liquid embroidery demonstration party. Mr. & Mrs. Vern Ridley and Mr. & Mrs. Langford Ridley of Parkhill, visited a day last week in Kincardine with the men's sister, Mrs. Joe Shelton. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Holt and Timmy of Ganonoque spent the weekend with his mother and sister Mrs. May Holt and Bdelah. • Mr. & Mrs. Ross Desjardine spent the weekend in Burlington with their daughter and• son-in- law, Mr. & Mrs. Don Cassidy and Shawn. Mr. Earl Finnen spent the weekend in London with his daughter and family Mr. & Mrs. Ken Flear and Mark. Rev. and Mrs. Harold Dobson visited several days last week in Powassan with her brother and sister, Mervyn and Audrey Cheaney. A party was held Friday night at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Elgin Hendrick, who were assisted by Mr. & Mrs. Carl Turnbull, for Mr. & Mrs. Rufus Turnbull, and Mr. & Mrs. Keith Horner and Stephen who have left this community to live elsewhere. During the social time several contests were en- joyed. Elgin Hendrick read an address to the two couples and Stephen, and Lloyd Wolper presented Mr. & Mrs. Horner with a Terrarium glass planter and Stephen a tape carrier for his car. Carl Turnbull presented Mr. & Mrs. Turnbull. with a Terrarium glass planter and a can opener. A reading was given by Mrs. Syd Neeb followed by a prayer by Mrs. Cora Gaiser. Mrs. Don Gaiser gave a reading, "In God's Hands." Mrs. Bruce Guy read the scripture reading and Mrs. Hendrick led in prayer. A film, Apartment 209, was presented. This was inspired by John Kellerman and the Department of the Ontario Government produced it. President, Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan, conducted the business. The ladies donated to Care, C.N.I.B., Leprosy Mission, Children's Aid Society, Bible Society, Crippled Child Treat- ment Centre, War Memorial hospital, and World. Relief. The Christmas dinner will be held December 10th. The Sunshine committee is Mrs, Lloyd Guenther and Mrs. Jack Gaiser. Rev. Joey Becker, twelve year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Bill Becker, was thrilled to be one of twenty- five Free Press carrier boys to be guests of the London Free Press on a trip to Montreal. They flew to Montreal where they stayed at the Sheraton Royal Hotel. They enjoyed tours of Montreal and saw the Vancouver-Montreal hockey game Saturday night. Joey arrived home Sunday night, tired, but delighted with the weekend. Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hayter and family, Mr. & Mrs. Bob Hayter and family, and Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hayter and family, Goderich, were in Windsor Sunday where they visited with Mr. & Mrs. Joe Bruce and celebrated Joe's birth- day. Jim Becker, Lawerence Becker, and Michael Hartman were among a group of hunters in the Parry Sound district who bagged three deer. Sharon Rader and Bill Bennett, London spent the weekend with Mr, ,St Mrs. Irvin Rader. Ladies Aid Group 4 of Zion Lutheran church ladies Aid was in charge of Devotions and lunch for the November meeting with Mrs. Louella Tiernan, convener. Pastor Frank Morgret took as the topic, "Sermons". He discussed his method of preparing a sermon and passed out several of the many books he uses. The ladies then discussed the interpretation of several Bible passages. Mrs. Arnold Becker, president, dealt with the business. There were eighteen members present. Mrs. Irvin Rader and Mrs. Lorne Becker are the nominating committee for a new secretary. Donations were made to the Children's Aid, Blind, Missions, and the Lutheran Hour. 4-H meeting The Tea Totin Twelve held their 4th meeting at MrS.Delmar Miller's home November 12th. The leaders discussed formal and informal teas. They also showed the girls the dainty sandwiches served at a tea. At their formal tea the girls served sandwiches, Which they made, hot tea, and finger squares.
