The South Huron Rabbit Club
has had a busy summer with
monthly meetings.
At each meeting there was an
open discussion on topics and
various problems, including
feeds, methods of feeding,
diseases, management and
anything that may come up in the
growing of good rabbits.
Members are urged to attend
the meetings. Attending the
monthly meetings will give
breeders new ideas and perhaps
improve quality, Grading of
fryers at the time of marketing is
a possibility. The club is shipping
250-300 rabbits twice monthly and
quality is important in holding a
good market.
The club hosted the Provincial
Rabbit Show during the summer
and there were 400 entries. Angus
Murray won the trophy for the
most points. All the rabbits in
Angus' entry were bred and
raised in his own pens.
Plans for winter activities are
being made. The nominating
committee met and election of
officers will be held at the
December meeting.
There will be a Christmas-
supper party at Centralia for
members and their families on
December 1. Santa Claus will pay
a visit and there will be games
and a social hour.
