Brownies become Dashwood
Girls' Club
At the first Brownie meeting, it
was decided by Brown Owl, Mrs.
LeRoy Gowanlock and the
mothers to change our
organization to a straight
girls'club. After a year as part of
the Girl Guide organization we
felt our needs would be better
met in our community by
removing hampering restrictions
of usefulness and opening the
doors for help from the young
people.
Mrs.Gowanlock has now of-
ficially resigned from the Girl
Guides of Canada and henceforth
the girls will be known as "The
Dashwood Girls' Club." *
