at the home of Mrs. Adeline
Kraft, Thursday, October 31st on
the occasion of her 86th birthday,
The evening was spent playing
cards and visiting, She was
recipient of many cards, gifts,
and good wishes. Lunch followed,
including birthday cake.
Mr. & Mrs. Tony VanWyck and
girls, Exeter, were dinner guests
with Mr, & Mrs. Irvin Rader and
Paul, Sunday,

Some ninety ladies and girls
gathered in the church basement
on Tuesday evening to honor Beth
Passmore bride-elect of
November. To the music "We
Have Just Begun" played by
Carolyn Kellett, Judith Parker
escorted Beth to a decorated
chair. Carolyn Kellett was
chairlady for the programme.
Valeri and Marlene Glanville
sang several numbers. A skit
"Comedy of Error On The
Etiquette Of Dressing."
Mrs. Ray Cdnn accompanied
her daughter Cheryl who sang
during the skit. Mrs. Rick
Parker, Mrs. Howard Churchill,
Mrs. Murray Dawson, Mrs.
Gordon . Stone, Mrs. George
Kellettand Mrs.Arnold Cann took
part in the humorous skit.
Mrs. Howard Cunnington read
the- address and Cheryl Cann
pulled in a decorated sleigh filled
with many lovely and useful gifts.
After opening the gifts Beth
thanked all those present and
invited them to her Open House
on November 16 and also to her
reception at Kirkton on
November 30.

Dashwood club 4-II girls• club
no, 3 held their second meeting at
Mrs, Maxine Miller's home
October 29th. The girls decided to
call themselves "The l'ea Totin
Twelve."
After the leaders discussed
table service and manners the
girls made chicken-a-la-king and
delicious squares, While some
made the dinner others were
setting the table and making a
flower arrangement. After eating
and cleaning up the meeting
adjourned. The next meeting will
be November 5th.

Pastor Barz, Goderich, led the
opening devotions to prepare
members and guests of the
Mitchell Zone Lutheran Women
Missionary League for par-
ticipation in their annual
Christian Growth Workshop held
at Zion Lutheran church, Mon-
day, October 28th.
Mrs. Anna Walkom conducted
the Bible study based on verses
from Acts, Corinthians, and
Philippians. The theme for
discussion and meditation was,
"Together in Christ-Joyfully."
It .was the consensus of opinion
that it would be difficult if not
impossible to cope successfully
with the violence and anxiety we
must face in today's society were
it not for our oneness in Jesus.
Where we are "together in
Christ" there is indeed Joy.

United Church Women
The November meeting of the
United Church Women was held
on Monday evening with Mrs.
John Pym as hostess.
Mrs. Arnold Cann program
convener was in charge of the
Worship service of which the
Theme was "In Thankfulness".
Mrs. Ray Cann gave a reading
on "Peace" and the Scripture
lesson.
A poem "Remembrance was
given by Mrs. Bev. Morgan. Mrs.
Arnold Cann gave the thought for
the day.
Mrs. Morgan introduced Mrs.
Dean (Joanne) McKnight of
Exeter who makes ecology boxes
and other crafts. Joanne gatve a
very interesting -talk and passed
around some of her work.
Mrs, Ray Cann thanked her
and presented her with a gift.
Mrs. Lee Webber took charge of
the business. Minutes, cards of
thanks and the treasurer's report
were given. The flower
arrangements the U.C.W.
donated to the church were
commented on.

the 50th Wedding Anniversary of
Mr. & Mrs, Lloyd Edighoffer of

and later visited with Mr, & Mrs,
Earl Guenther and other
relatives. Mr. & Mrs. Earl
Guenther also attended the an-
niversary.
