Mr. Emil Sonnenburg of Kit- chener showed colored slides Sunday evening at the Church of God, of Siberia and Russia. In July of this year Mr. & Mrs.Sonnenburg went to visit his sister Berta in Siberia, whom he had last seen 43 years ago when she was 9 months old, The rest of the family emigrated to Canada and Berta was raised by her aunt.Although they kept in touch by correspondence a phone call was arranged so Berta talked to her parents in Canada for the first time since they left her. Bonnie Heather Sweitzer, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Stuart Sweitzer and Lawrence Michael Erickson of Grand Bend were married Saturday in Crediton United Church, with the recep- tion and dinner following later at Dashwood Community centre. Start euchre at Brinsley GRAND BEND The United Church observed their 47th anniversary on Sunday with guest minister Rev. M. M. Irwin M.A.S.T.M. a missionary of Seoul, Korea, a teacher at Hankuk Seminary and Yonsei University now on furlough in West Montrose Ontario. Special music was provided in the morning by the choir and solos by Mrs. Gary Brenner. The morning sermon topic was "Why Mission in modern Korea." Evening sermon was "Korean Scenes and our Concerns," illustrated by Rev. M. M. and Mrs, Irvin. Special music at the evening service was supplied by 23 members of the "Huronia Male Choir." 4-H girls meet The Formal Floret 4-H girls held their meeting Tuesday evening at the home of Rose Kelders. Roll call was "One thing I would like in a guest room." Discussion followed on the dif- ference between formal and informal parties. They made fancy sandwiches and served them with tea for lunch, and practiced manners. By GORDON MORLEY The first euchre party of the season was held Friday evening at Brinsley Community Centre. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Trevithick and Mr. & Mrs. Joe Carter were conveners. Prize winners were: ladies high, Mrs. Jack Hodgson, lone hands Mrs. Guthrie Stokes, low Mrs. Luther Morley, men's high Alonzo Hodgins, lone hands Charlie Rollings, low Harold Guilfoyle. Next party will be held November 15th at 8:30 p.m. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Guilfoyle will be in charge of the evening. Personals Joyce Hodgson, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Howard Hodgson has accepted a position as secretary at the University of Western Ontario, London. Mr. & Mrs. Roy Mawson, Parkhill visited Gordon & Kathleen Morley Monday evening. Jim Trevithick, Pt. Franks, a former resident of Brinsley is a patient in the University Hospital. Anthony and Andy Hemming went to visit Bill Prest and Max Shephard over the weekend. A shower for Debbie Lewis, bride-elect of this month will be held this Thursday evening in Brinsley United Church basement. Mrs. Mary Amos is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mrs. Don Taylor had the misfortune to fall and break her wrist recently. Nile Foster spent the weekend at home with her brother at Greenway. Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Gilbert, London and Mrs. Gertie Glennof Craigholme were Sunday dinner guests with Mrs. Mary Tweddle.
