Ed Finkbeiner accompanying
them. Kathy Russell played a
piano solo. Mrs. Ross Pickering
read several poems.
Two nieces of the prospective
groom, Cathy and Carol Mitro
provided special music also.

Usborne Central School Monday
evening to honor Mr. & Mrs.
Harold Rowe who have moved to
Exeter some time ago. Euchre
was played and the prizes were
won by ladies high, Mrs. Wayne
Rowe; ladies low, Mrs. Glen
Stewart; lone hands, Mrs. Jack
Borland; mens high, William
Rowe; mens low, William Snow.
Ross Hodgert read rhyming
address and Frank Kints
presented Mr. & Mrs. Harold
Rowe with a lovely picture. Both
Harold and Belva replied. All
joined in singing "For They Are
Jolly Good Fellows". Lunch was
then served.
Mr. & Mrs. Wilfred Hunkin,
Margaret and Kenneth attended
Convocation at the University of
Western Ontario on Saturday, at
which time Mrs. Hunkin received
her Bachelor of Arts Degree from
the Faculty of Social Science,
Cathy played several accordion
selections and accompanied her
sister's vocal numbers.

helped Bonnie to open the gifts.
Mrs, Harold Finkbeiner con-
ducted a contest. while lunch was
being prepared,,
Trip to Holland
Mrs. Cornelis Verkerk has
returned from a flight to Holland
where she visited members of her
family and those of her husband.
There were nieces and nephews
she had not previously seen since
they were born during her twenty
years' absence from her
homeland. September's cold, wet
weather somewhat marred the
holiday.

Dr. Ross Wein, Fredericton,
N.B., visited his parents, Mr. &
Mrs. Emerson Wein, for a few
clays.
Mr, & Mrs. Gordon Morlock,
Mr, & Mrs. Emerson Wein and
Dr. Ross Wein, informed of the
death of Harry Carroll, former
resident of Stephen Township,
went to th,e funeral home at
Dutton, Friday.
Zion Service
The Sunday morning service in
Zion United Church was con-
ducted by Rev. J. Ure Stewart of
Seaforth. Flowers in the church
were from the funeral of Alf
Wuerth, placed there by the
family. The Family Night
Christmas concert has been
scheduled for December 15.
Mr. & Mrs. Ken Glavin and
Anthony motored to Wallaceburg
on Sunday to visit with friends.
Mr. & Mrs. Joe Carey and
friends spent a couple days last
week in Peterborough with Mr. &
Mrs. John McManus.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Mercer and
family Exeter, and Mr. & Mrs.
Jack Houlahan and family Sarnia
were guests on Sunday with Mrs.
Kathleen Houlahan and Jim.

returned home by plane after
visiting relatives in Vancouver
for past two weeks.
Restoration program
The painters, and plasterers
with electricians and men who
are helping are doing a new
restoration program on Our Lady
of Mt. Carmel Church. A new
lighting system and a new carpet
in the Sanctuary will add greatly
to the beauty of the church.
