Opening with a costume parade the following were winners: pre school and. kindergarten - best costume, Michael Richardson, Dean Robinson; best comic or representation - Beth Williams, Darlene Arkinson; best home made costume - Aron Bickel', Darlene Atkinson, Grades 1 to 3 best costume - Sandra Williams, Steven Thomson; best comic, Steven Spence, Tracy Rundle; best home made costume, Deanna Copeland, Karen Atkinson. Grades 4 and 5 best halloween costume - Kim Brintnell; best comic - Barbara Jaques; best home made costume - Barry McCurdy, Janet Hartwick, Grades 6, 7, & 8 - best costume, David Spence, Terri Brintnell; best comic or representation - Cheryl Brine, Janet Parkinson: best home made costume - Susan Spence, Calvin Rodd; best couple to Grade 8, Ron and Don Brint- nell, Cynthia, Ellen and Deanna Copeland. High school and adults - best comic, I3utsy Parkinson, Leonard Thacker; best couple - Dennis and Doris Richardson, Veria Copeland and Evelyn Jansson, The program consisted of musical numbers, recitations and skits, after which a sale of homebaking, candy was held. The children also enjoyed fishing in the fish pond. Personals Mr. & Mrs. David Wheeler and Steven attended a family gathering at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Hollingshead and family of Toronto on Sunday, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Parkinson, Margaret and Janet and Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Thacker visited Jack Miner's Bird Sanctuary at Kingsville on Saturday. A large barn near the road (No. 4 Hwy) on the farm formerly owned by Mr. & Mrs. Wm„ McWilliams is coming down board by board. This will make a new perspective on the land- scape. Congratulations are in order to Clare and Jimmy Paton, who on October 19th took part in Mid- dlesex plowing match. Jim took part in the home ploughing and won first in his class. Jim and Clare both won a first at the match in their class. In the 17 and under class, Jim won Eaton's silver tray which enables him to take part at the International Match in Oshawa next year. Clare ploughed in the utility class and won first in this class and also won the Esso Special Award. Clare also took part in Elgin Match, Saturday October 26th. 4-H girls The Tea Totalers had their seventh meeting at the home of Janis Kestle. Seven members and one visitor were present. Plans were completed for their party Nov. 11th and discussions on courtesy, etiquette for many occasions. The roll call was one duty of a pleasing guest. Record books are to be up to date for next meeting with Meeting 8 roll call, "What I have gained from this project," The Enduring Entertainers had their sixth meeting at Pat Hodgin's home, Mrs, Groenewegen brought cup cakes and demonstrated ways to decorate them. Each girl decorated her cake, then thoroughly enjoyed eating it. The Amicable Associates called the roll at Penny Smith's home and eight girls gave their idea of a pleasing guest, Discussions were on hospitality in the club and writing an in- vitation to a club party, Final preparations were made for their party to include their parents at a buffet meal. Halloween Tea The Goblins and Ghosts Tea was well attended on Saturday afternoon and the ladies were pleased with the results. Rev. Madden officially opened the event with prayer. Windsor students visit A bus load of grade niners from S.J. Brennan School Windsor visited the Exeter Cemetry and Hay Swamp - as a field project, and were given the royal treat- ment. Henry Green (Hank) was the guide for the group through the "Swamp." Bonnie Charron, Windsor organized the trip. Mr, & Mrs. Clarence Millson entertained Mr, & Mrs. Orville Railings and Rick and Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Millson. Mr. & Mrs. H. Bosch and family spent Sunday with the Westlaken family. Mr. & Mrs. Lorne Armitage visited with Mr. & Mrs. A. Lewis Monday evening. Mr. & Mrs. C.K. Carter, Kevin, Joanne and Lisa joined the mobile travellers and left Friday for a short holiday at the home of Mr, & Mrs. J. Brownlea and family, Gravenhurst and other points of interest. Mr. & Mrs. A. Charron, Wind- sor were weekend guests with Mr. & Mrs. D. Kestle and Nathan Skinner spent Saturday and Sunday with his grandparents. Archie Robertson was home with his parents Saturday and Sunday from Kitchener Mike Staley who has been a student teacher at Exeter High School for two weeks stayed at the home of Mr. & Mrs. D. Kestle . Anyone need kittens? I have four beauties just buzz meat 227- 4520. 3 males and 1 female, litter trained. (Mother expecting more - so please help!) Mr. & Mrs. Lankford, Port Alma, Mr. & Mrs. Murray Simpson and Matthew, St. Marys were Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Simpson.
