Pentecosta I
Rick Thornton led the singing
at the Morning service at the
Lucan Pentecostal Holiness
church on Sunday, with Rev. Ray
Brewster speaking from Acts 1:
1-14. He stated that the presence
of Jesus Christ in our lives has
the power to change us for good.
Mr. Brewster directed the
singing at the evening service
and Cathy Hopps was the soloist.
Speaking from the book of
Philemon, Mr. Brewster said
that, as our lives are a testimony
to those around us, of Christ
living in us, All three youth
groups met as usual during the
week.
A FISHING PASTOR — At the dessert tea Saturday sponsored by the Clondeboye UCW, a fish pond was

The value of visiting
newcomers within our com-
munity was stressed at the Lucan
United church on Sunday, by
Rev. Ewart Madden speaking on
"When Christians Call" the 3rd
in a series. He stated that it was
not the will of God that creeds
should separate Christians and
when this happens it is time to
scrap the creeds. Christians visit
to spread love and to share
something of great value to them.
The annual visitation will take
place on Sunday, November 3,
following the Friendship Unit
Fellowship luncheon, for all
members and adherents.
Children and their parents
were advised that Junior Choir,
with Mr. Paul Kight, would
commence on Thursday,
November 14 at 7 p.m. and
Messengers were being
reorganized and would recom-
mence for children ages 5-8 on
Sunday, November 3.

what the people want before
plans are finalized.
The board was aiming for
construction to start at the end of
the ice season but Harry Wraith
said he thought that was now an
unrealistic goal.
The complex would replace the
present hall, kitchen, snack bar,
dressing rooms and washrooms.
Two representatives from the
Community Services Branch,
Toronto, were present to explain
the grants available.

Delegates from the councils
authorized the arena board to
work out a cost sharing
agreement between the four
municipalities which will benefit
from the improved facilities.
Arena Board chairman, Harry.,
Wraith waid Tuesday, "There
are still changes to be made to
the plans but it is up to us (the
arena board) to get the payment
percentages worked out."
The councils will meet again to
discuss the sharing of costs. No
details have been made as to
construction or cost. Wraith said
they wanted to get approval from
the participating councils before
they went ahead with the plans.

On October 27 at Holy Trinity
Anglican Church, Lucan, the
combined congregations of Holy
Trinity and St. James, Clan-
deboye, participated in
Sacrament of Confirmation.
Rev. John Hofland, Rector,
presented twenty-six members to
Bishop David Ragg for con-
firmation before an overflow
congregation of parishioners,
relatives and friends.
The Bishop's sermon was
directed to those newly con-
firmed and was taken from the
Epistle to the Philippians chapter
3, verse 20: "We are Citizens of
Heaven". "In our infanthood we
receive a family name and
citizenship in our country of
birth. As we grow older we
assume responsibilities of
adulthood. When baptised we
receive a special name and are
made Citizens of Heaven. As we
grow in spiritual age we assume
the responsibilities and
privileges of worship. As children
and servants of God, we should be
concerned for the whole Christian
world. The newly confirmed have
reached adulthood in the
Kingdom of God on earth, and
with the Sacrament of Con-
firmation receive the Holy Spirit
for their lifetime."
Assisting Bishop David Ragg
were The Rector, John Hofland,
and the Rev. Professor F. H.
Allen. Mr. John Bright was the
Bishop's Staffbearer.

Until now, fuel injection has almost exclusively been a luxury item
on luxury cars, costing anywhere up to twenty-five or thirty thousand,
dollars..
And if you've had the big sums of money it took to buy those kind
of cars, then you know what a wonderful thing fuel injection can be.
Well, from this day on, all you need is the little sum of money it
takes to buy a 1975 VW Beetle, to know what a wonderful thing fuel
injection can be.
What you getforyour mon-
ey is an electronic brain, or con-.
trol unit, that receives signals
from the engine, evaluates them,
and in micro-seconds, determines
exactly how much fuel should go
into each cylinder.
And then, again in micro-
seconds, the fuel injectors (where
the system gets its name from) actually inject the precise amount of
gas for each cylinder. As an added bonus we might add that our system.
still only requires good old regular gas.
Now, if all this sounds rather remarkable, well it is.
Because it means you don't waste a drop of gas.
Your engine runs more smoothly, it runs more
efficiently and it runs more trouble-free.
Plus, the whole system is perfectly pre-set. And
tamper-proof.
What else you get for your money is the amazing
package it all comes in: The Volkswagen Beetle,
A car that's by now legendary for its craftsmanship, quality and
dependability. As well as a car that's covered by the VW Owner's Security
Blanket, probably the most advanced auto coverage plan in the world.
The 1975 Beetle with electronic fuel injection.
Just possibly, with the way things are shaping up, this might be the
year you can't afford natio own one.
