spent several days recently With
their son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. & Mrs. Earl Lithgow and
family at Barrie and visited Mrs.
Lithgow"s brother in Kitchener.
Mr. & Mrs. John Melville and
Mr. & Mrs, Gerald Jamieson and
Brian of Sarnia visited.
Thanksgiving weekend with
relatives in New York State.
Mr, & Mrs. Fred Thompson
accompanied by Mr. & Mrs.
David McLeod of Parkhill spent
the weekend at Lions Head.
Mrs. Rheama Waite is a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital, London.

Exeter club in front with assists
going to Brian Taylor and Kevin

John Culligan evened the score
for Mitchell in the early moments
of the second period and that
ended the game scoring.
Penalties were few and far
between with the hometown
Hawks taking four of the seven
minors handed out.
The Exeter Hawks gained
three of a possible four points in
the Ontario Hockey Association
Western league this week.
Friday night .on home ice, the
Hawks battled to a 2-2 tie with
their namesakes the Mitchell
Hawks while Sunday night in
Port Stanley they scored a
decisive 10.3 win over the Port
Stanley Lions, one of the two new
clubs in the league this year.
This coming week will be fairly
quiet for the Hawks with only one
game on the schedule and that is
at home Friday night at the
Exeter arena at 8:30 p.m. with
the Strathroy Falcons as op-
ponents.
- The Lucan-Ilderton Jets made
their second start of the young
Ontario Hockey Association
Senior Continental season
another success with a 9-5 victory
over the Woodstock Royals,
Friday night.
- The. game was played in
Woodstock. A week earlier the
Jets defeated the Stratford
Perths. They will be in action on
two occasions this week,
Tonight, Thursday the Jets
travel to Lambeth to meet the
London Kings in a 7:30 p.m.
starting game. Sunday afternoon
at two o'clock they will be back in
the friendly confines of the
Ilder ton arena to meet the same
London Kings.
Don Carter and Jacques
Cousineau were the top scorers
for the Jets each producing three
goal performances.
The Jets jumped into a 3-1 lead
by the end of the first period and
were never seriously threatened
by the Royals.
The first goal came at 5:02 on a
nice effort by Jeff Craig as he
pushed the puck past the
Woodstock defence and went in to
pull the goalie out of position and
put the puck in the net, Assists
went to Jack Nairn and Rick
Campbell.
Less than four minutes later,
Don Carter tipped in a shot from
the blueline by Nairn. Campbell
again assisted.
Carter was back at the 16:07
mark to poke in a rebound with
the assists going to Jim Blake
and Bill Fairbairn.
Jack Creil put the Woodstock
club on the scoreboard with about
a minute left in the first period
with two Jets resting in the
penalty box.
The closest the Royals were
able to come to tying the score
was early in the second when Don
Wells scored. The Jets followed
with three power play goals to
take a 6-2 lead.
Jacques Cousineau was on the
firing end of the first two. Jamie
Robb and Don Carter provided
passing help on the first and
assists onthe other went to Brian
Haskett, and Terry Johnson.
At 19:29 Jack Nairn completed
the second period tallying as he

relatives on Sunday.
Hawks get decisive win

after two periods of play broke
the game wide open with a
barrage of five successful shots
in the final 20 minutes of play.

started the Hawks off in the

held ap the Corbett ,community
centre „on 'Friday evening for
LoAa 'Mawson and Jim Latta,
recent newlyweds.
Mrs. Harry Isaac and Mrs.
Stuart Bullock, were among those
from here who attended the 100th
anniversary service in Zurich
United Church, Sunday evening.
The Watchmen, a male quartette
from the Kitchener, Burlington
areas, who were guests at that
service have been booked to
attend United Church festivities
here next June 8th.
Mr. & Mrs. Ross Marriott, St.
Marys were guests of the Curts
here on Sunday.
Mrs. Selbourne English visited
last week with her sisters in the
Ingleside area.
Mrs. Ed Bullock has returned
to her home, following a two
month stay with her daughters in
and around Ontario.

The two teams traded single
goals in the last three minutes of
play. Scoring for the Hawks was
Brian Taylor on an unassisted
effort.
The Hawks also struck quickly
in the third period with Donnie
McKellar hitting the mark on a
solo dash in the first two minutes
of play.
Next on the scoreboard for the
Exeter club was Harry Smits as
he converted passes from Wayne
Regier and John Beer at 4.33.
Matt Muller ran the score to 8-2
at 13 minutes on an unassisted
effort and in quick succession
Brian Taylor and Brad Klumpp
completed the game scoring for
the Hawks.
Assists on the last two scores
were, credited to, John, Beer,
Wayne Regier and Harry Smits;
Each team was tagged with 14
penalties. All were of the minor
variety except fighting majors to
R. Weaver of Port Stanley and
Randy Gilfillan of the Hawks.
