President Nancy McCurdy opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge. Seven members were present to answer to the roll call which is the type of reference file they have chosen. Dues were paid up and various other business was discussed. A joint demonstration on packing suitcases was done. Home assignments for the next meeting are to work on record book and reference'file, also to find something which you think would be interesting to discuss at the next meeting. Tuesday Stratford Central was here for a double header which saw South Huron girls go down to defeat. In the junior game they doubled up on us 70-35. In a fast playing game Deb Riddell came up on top with 12 points, Lynne Brooks, Cathy Wooden and Kelly Gaiser tripled with six a piece. Jill Tuckey and Tammy Pryde singled with one. The senior team was beaten 55- 37. Deb Wooden basketed 16, while Val Sweet tucked in 12, Gail Fuller passed in seven and Marie Jarvis singled with one. Thursday we met Wingham at home and came up with double winners. The juniors won 42-26 in a game that was well played and showed much improvement in shooting. Tammy Baker came up with 10, Jill Tuckey with 7, Lynne Brooks, threw in five, Deb Riddell, Patsy Randall, Jane Smith and Kelly Gaiser each helped with four, Janet Pryde and Helen Brand managed two a piece, The seniors narrowly edged Wingham 35-27. Val Sweet and Deb Wooden scored 12 points a piece, Gail Fuller had nine, and Gayle Ecker two. The teams are improving and are playing some really good games do don't be a poor sport - come out and give them a cheer! By MRS, FRED BOWDEN The Rev. The second meeting of the C.G.I.T, was held on Tuesday evening in the school room of the Auxiliary instal another member The Hensall Legion Ladies Auxiliary meeting was held on Tuesday evening in the Legion Hall with president Wanda McClinchey presiding. Past president Mildred Chalmers installed a new member, Joan Allan, Iva Reid presented past president, Mildred with a gift in ap- preciation for her acting as President for two years.• Members decided to help canvass for the C.N.I.B., and also decided to have the Money Doll draw sometime in December. Sports Officer, Iva Reid gave a sports report and announced events, eomincup in the future, themystery prize was won by Iva Reid and the guessing prize by Mable Munn. United Church and opened with a hymn and the member's purpose. The Worship was conducted by Lynn Cronyn and Terasa Reed. Lori Cronyn and Wendy Fields conducted the games. Leading in a sing-song were Pauline Overholt and Karen Dietrich. Secret pals were chosen and items of business were discussed. The benediction closed the meeting. Officers elected are: president Chris Beaton, vice-president Debbie McGraw, secretary Penny Smith, treasurer Donna Wilson, press reporter Terasa Reed and Mrs. John Beaton is the leader. Mrs. Ken Hodgins, Mrs. Earl Haist, Mrs. Alvin Lobb, Mrs, W. R. Essery and Mrs. Ken Greb attended the regional meeting for United Church Women in the Dashwood United Church on Wednesday of last week. UCW Entertains The Centralia United Church , Women entertained Thames Road, Crediton and Elimville ladies at their meeting last Thursday evening, The theme of the meeting was autumn which took on a real meaning among the coloured leaves, fruits and vegetables decorating the room. Mrs. June Essery the president opened with a poem and then welcomed the ladies "Count your Blessings" an old hymn was sung by everyone. Two poems Plant your Garden "• and "My old washing machine" were read by Mrs. Frank Hicks. Pearl Buswell played a piano solo. Mrs. Melville Buswell gave the Bible study on the parables. Mrs. June Essery led in prayer. Mrs. Russel Wilson sang a solo accompanied by Mrs. Lorne Hicks. Mrs. Gerald Isaac read a poem "Five senses of Autumn". Mrs. John Beaton spoke on her work with social services in London, Mrs. Russel Wilson sang another solo enjoyed by all. The meeting closed with the hymn "Bringing in the Sheaves" and Mizbah Benediction. Group one assisted-and the committee Mrs. Frank Hicks, Mrs, Gerald Isaac and Mrs. Melville Buswell to serve lunch, Personals Mr. & Mrs. Harold Tripp were in Beamsville for a few days last week owing to the death of Mrs. Tripp's sister, the late Mrs. Robert Quinnell of St. Catharines. The funeral was on Thursday in Beamsville, Lawrence Hirtzel was in Alma, Michigan on Tuesday attending a birthday celebration for his uncle, Louis Hirtzel who was observing his 100th birthday. Mr. & Mrs. Russell Wilson and family attended the 30th wedding anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. Fred Wilson at Arkona on Saturday night. Mr. & Mrs.Don Hirtzel and girls of Parkhill, Mr. & Mrs. Karl Keller and family of London were Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Hirtzel.
