The meeting opened with the 4- H pledge followed by the election of officers. president Jeana Elliott; vice-president Margaret Laing; sec-treasurer Bonnie Norris; assistant Betty Anne Miller; press reporter Margaret Laing; poster comm, Gail Harburn, Margaret Laing; book covers Kathy Douglas, Cheryl Riley, Sally Van Landuyt; telephone Kathy Douglas. Achievement Day will be held Dec. 7, The girls were divided into cooking groups as follows, Kathy Douglas, Bonnie Norris, Jeana Elliott; Margaret Laing, Gail Harburn, Betty Anne Miller, Pam Wallace and Cheryl Riley, Sally Van Landuyt, Teresa Wallace. Mrs, Charles Douglas led a discussion on Canadian History and Foods of the Early Settlers, At their second meeting the girls chose The Happy Cookers for their name. Ten girls and two leaders answered the roll call with the name of a Canadian food By MRS, HAROLD DAVIS KIRKTON The fourth meeting of Kirkton No. 4 4-H "Galloping Gourmets" was held at the home of Mrs. F. Parkinson. The meeting opened with the 4-11 pledge and the roll call was answered with a food formerly made at home, by the eight girls present. The Minutes were read by Janice Thomson. Notes were reviewed, and Margaret Parkinson made Dutch chocolate and Karen Insley made German Tea Squares. All enjoyed the sampling and the meeting was adjourned. Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis were Friday evening guests with Mr: & Mrs. Jack. Dickins, Exeter and on Saturday they were dinner guests with MrS. R. Dickins, Eketer. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Dobbs en- tertained twelve class mates of their daughter, Patti at the Holiday Inn, London Sunday on the occasion of her birthday. While there they also attended the 50th wedding anniversary celebrations of Mr. McKaig's cousins, Mr. & Mrs. George McKaig of White Rock, and went sight-seeing on Vancouver Island. Mr. & Mrs. Thomas L. Scott arrived home last week following a motor trip to the west. Debbie Hulley, Winthrop, spent the weekend with her cousins, Steven, Lisa, and Leanne Gar- diner. Marilyn Laing is spending a two-week vacation with relatives in Regina, Moose Jaw and Calgary.
