The Rally Day service of
September 29 at Zion United
Church began with Harry
Schroeder, Sunday School
superintendent, calling on Ruth
Ann Martin and Michael Fink-
bother to give welcome
recitations, The kindergarten
and beginners classes sang
"Jesus Loves Me" and "Jesus
Loves the Little Children", led by
Mrs. Peter Martin.
The Testament Class per-
formed a short skit on "Mind
Pollution and How to Avoid It."
Robin Little played a piano solo,
Heather Little and Mary Ellen
Schlenker sang "Nothing Is
Impossible." Mrs. Ed Finkbeiner
played a piano solo as a con-
tribution from the Adult Class.
Carolyn Pritchard sang "0
Daniel."
The transfer of children to new
classes followed. Younger
children came through the gates
and were welcomed into the next
class,
The service concluded with the
singing of "Jesus Loves Me."
The Sunday morning service at
Zion United Church was con-
ducted by Frank Verheul of
Zurich. Special music was
prdvided by a double duet
composed of Mrs. Ervin Ratz,
Mrs. Douglas Gill, Mrs, Lloyd
Lamport and Mrs. Walter
Fydenchuk.
Take trip to East Coast
Rev. and Mrs. Armin
Schlenker enjoyed a motor tour
to the East Coast with Mr. & Mrs.
Ken Dedman of Kitchener. In
Ontario they stopped at Upper
Canada Village to watch the
spinning of yarn and weaving of
blankets, water-powered sawing
of lumber and a horse-drawn
canal boat.
In Quebec and the Maritimes
they visited shops featuring hand
carved articles. Nova Scotia and
New Brunswick with rolling land
and many trees they found very
scenic,
Prince Edward Island,
dedicated to farming and fishing,
its highest point 450 feet above
sea level, was free from air

Sunday School pupils perform
in Crediton rally day service

of Anne of Green Gables, the
Woodleigh replicas of English
Castles, cathedrals and the crown
jewels, Centennial Hall and the
Confederation Buildings.
The return home was through
Maine, New Hampshire, Ver-
mont and New York, with the
crossing into Ontario made at. the
Thousand Islands.

anniversary with a dinner Sunday
night at the "Old Mill" in
Parkhill.
Guests were Mrs. Susie Devine,

Pamela and Paul of Wyoming,
and Mr. & Mrs. Lanny
Scrimegour, Angela and Jeffery
of London. This was a double
celebration as they also
celebrated five birthdays. Mr, &
Mrs. Adams, their daughter Mrs.
Scrimegour, and grandchildren
Pamela and Jeffery.
Dr. Wilfred Turnbull of Van-
couver is visiting his sister and
brother-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Arlo
Stuckey and other relatives in
this area.

surprise visit on Sunday to the

Buelah Holt has moved from
London to live permanently in
Grand Bend. After '23 years
service as health counsellor for
the Bell telephone she has retired
to make her home with her
Lovie.
A girls club of around 14 girls
from The Christian Reformed
Church of Sarnia who were
holidaying in Beach O'Pines,
attended the United Church
services Sunday morning.
Rev. and Mrs. H. Dobson
visited Monday in Hamilton with
their son Mr. & Mrs. Jim Dobson,
and grandchildren David and
Jeffery.
Mrs. Wellington Baker is a
patient at University Hospital
London, Mr. Baker is spending
some holidays with his daughter
