On the way out they visited friends at Minnedosa, Man., Calgary, Alberta, and Agassiz, B.C. While visiting in Agassiz, B.C. at Mrs. Tieman's girlfriend's home who she hasn't seen for 21 years, the tem- perature rose to 85 to 90 degrees every day. The board prepared a policy covering school custodians, giving consideration to the selection and supervision of custodial staff and the main- tenance of co-operation and communication among the principal and staff, the custodian and the board office. The policy covers the hiring, the training, the supervision of duties, maintaining the school buildings and premises in a proper sanitary condition, com- munication links for custodians and the rules for dismissal if necessary for breach of contract. Donald Crowley, tran- sportation committee chairman said. Howard Shantz of Stratford asked that the Family Life Advisory Committee, which is studying the report of the pilot project on teaching the Family Life program to grade 8 students last spring, be prepared to report back to the board soon. He said he hoped to see the same program implemented to grade seven- pupils as well as grade 8 this year. Elaine Morley conducted two interesting contests and Gayle Fenton read a poem "As Your Mother Used to Do." Following the address read by Marjorie Steeper, Elaine Morley, Carolyn Lewis, Karen Hodgson and Vicki Lewis helped the bride with her many and useful gifts. A miniature hospital room complete with nurse and patient was used to display the pretty bows. Personals Doreen Lee is nursing in South Huron Exeter Hospital. The community extends sympathy to Mr, & Mrs, Wilfred Windsor and family in the death of Thomas Windsor last Monday. Best wishes to Mary Hodgins and Joe Hodgins who were married in Brinsley St. Marys Church Saturday. The United Church an- niversary was a decided success Sunday and was well attended. Rev. Frank Dalton of Parkhill was in charge of the service, Special music of sacred songs was provided by a group of youthful senior citizens the Jolly J's of London. A family shower of about fifty relatives gathered at the home of Mrs. Wilbert Lewis and Carolyn Friday evening for a shower for Cathy Lewis. Mr. & Mrs. George Prest, and Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Shepherd went to visit Bill Prest, Max Shepherd of Lindsay over the weekend. Mrs. Audrey Desjardine and Laverne, Palmerston and Mrs. Ivan Mcllroy, Naomi and baby spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lewis and Carolyn. Mrs. Mcllroy and family are staying for a few days. She will resume writing her column in a couple of weeks, The Huron-Perth County Roman Catholic Separate School Board meeting in Seaforth Monday accepted the fuel oil tender of Ross Scott Ltd. Brucefield for the year 1974-75 at a discount of five cents per gallon off the posted tank wagon price which at time of tender was 36.9 cents for all schools except Wingham, which is 37.5 cents per gallon. Jack Lane, business ad- ministrator, said the difference in price for Wingham was that it is located in a different provincial zone. Ted Geoffrey of Zurich said the Scott tender was the lowest of three. He said it was not a firm price and will vary when the refineries adjust their prices, perhaps later this fall. Mrs. Trudy Smith of Zurich was appointed principal's relief at Ecole Ste. Marie at St. Joseph. The City of Stratford will be granted permission to use the separate schools for the municipal elections upcoming in December. Six trustees indicated they would be able to attend the Christian Curriculum Development Conference in Toronto, November 1, 2 and 3 - Board Chairman Michael Con- nolly of Kippen, Howard Shantz of Stratford,John McCann ofAilsa Craig, Francis Hicknell of Seaforth, Ted Geoffrey of Zurich and Oscar Kieffer of Bluevale. The UNICEF officials were given permission to distribute boxes in any separate school under the board's jurisdiction at Halloween. The sketch plans for the ad- dition at St. Patrick's School, Kinkora, as presented by Brian Garratt, architect, of Kyles, Kyles and Garratt, Stratford have been approved. They have been sent to the ministry of education for approval. The board was notified that three members of the clergy have been appointed to the trustee- clergy liaison committee - Rev. A. J. Durand of Zurich; Rev. Gordon Dill of Dublin and Rev. V. J, Gleeson of Stratford. Commenting on the budget print-out handed out by Arthur Haid, chairman of finance committee, Jack Lane said it was well within budget expenditures. Trustees are to study the report at home and it will be discussed at the next meeting. The board will write a letter to the council of Hibbert Township to ask that top priority be given, when preparing next year's road budget, to building a bridge on side road 20-21, concession two of Hibbert, Because the bridge is Introducing . .
