Malone, a graduate in journalism from Western Ontario University has accepted a position on the permanent staff of the London Free Press. Mrs. Elmer Wilson, Exeter, Mrs. Alf White, London and Mrs, Russell Schroeder were visitors on Wednesday of last week with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bowden, The Sunday School and Church services will be resumed in the United Church on Sunday mor- ning at the usual time. Many from this community attended the funeral on Monday of the late Albert Dickies, son of the late Mr, and Mrs. William Dickies of this community. He attended school at S.S. No. 2 and St. Patrick's Church and Sunday School. The Davis-Dickies reunion planned for last Sunday was cancelled due to the death of Mr. Dickins: Mrs, Jessie Cox and great granddaughter, Shelly Shantz, New Hamburg visited their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Davis over the weekend. Mrs. Raymond Greenlee, Exeter spent the weekend with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greenlee. Douglas Warren preached his farewell sermon to a large congregation, choosing as his final word, verse 58 of the 15th chapter of First Corinthians, Special music was provided by Rev. & Mrs. Warren, the choir and Mrs. Peter Martin. Flowers were from the wedding of Gwenyd Finkbeiner and Charles Nienkirchen. Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Little were welcomed into the fellowship of the church. Mrs, Jim Finkbeiner has an- nounced that the first meeting for Explorerswill be held in Zion United Church September 12 at four o'clock. Rev. Armin Schlenker con- ducted the service at the Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, Sunday evening. Mrs. Schlenker and Mary Ellen, Mrs Walter Fydenchuk and Ella Morlock helped with the singing, Mrs. Ed Finkbeiner playing the organ. LABOUR DAY SALE Darling's CLOVER FARM were presented to Rev. & Mrs. Warren on behalf of the congregation. Ed Hendrick read the address, William Schwartz presented a cheque and Ted Lamport a framed picture. A woollen blanket was presented to Mrs, Warren from the U.C.W. The congregation then moved downstairs for a time of lunch and fellowship. The Warrens leave this week for their home at 152 Elliott St., London, where they will serve ROwntree Memorial Church. Mrs. John Butters visited Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Thomas Doube at the Wildwood Nursing Home.
