the music, Mrs. Leila Finkbeiner
playing the organ.
Vacation Bible School is being
conducted by the church every
morning this week. The staff in
charge include Mrs. John Miller,
Mrs. Jim Finkbeiner, Mrs. Peter
Martin, Rev, & Mrs. Douglas
Warren, Mrs. Jim MacDonald
and. Lyle Little. Helpers are Teri
Lynn and Tami Lee Witherspoon,
Mary Ellen Schlenker, Janice
MacDonald and Barbara Wein,
Bradley Wright is a patient in
St. Joseph's Hospital following an
accident on the Crediton Road
Saturday. His bicycle was stuck
by a car.

Sunday with relatives in

munity is extended to Mrs. Alvin
Cudmore and family in the
sudden passing of her husband
and their father.
Quite a number from this
community attended open house
on Saturday at the home of Mrs.
Jack Stewart in honor of her
daughter Marlene, bride-elect of
Saturday.
Several from this community
attended the reception and dance
for Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Rowe
bridal couple, Saturday evening
at Kirkton-Woodham Community
Centre,
Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde
spent a few days at Nine Mile
Lake last week.
Earl Stephen, Elimville, Mr. &
Mrs. William Rohde and Calvin
were Sunday evening supper
guests with Mr. & Mrs. Glenn
Rohde.
Mr, & Mrs. Ray Cann and
Cheryl holidayed up north for
over a week.
Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Jeffery, Alan
and Connie were Sunday guests
with Mrs. William Thomson,
Exeter.

Monday evening a shower was
held in Zion United Church in
honour of Gwen Finkbeiner. Mrs.
Harold Fahner was in charge of
the program and conducted a
contest as did Mrs. John
MacKay.
Mrs, Gordon Finkbeiner played
a piano solo, Mrs. Emmery
Fahrner gave a reading and
Brenda Fahner read the address.
Brenda, Mrs. Jim Finkbeiner,
Debbie Finkbeiner and Georgina
Obre assisted in opening the gifts.
Stage mock wedding
Last Tuesday evening a shower
was held in the Zion United
Church Sunday School rooms in
honour of Barbara Pfaff.
Mrs. Peter Wuerth, Debbie
Finkbeiner, Elaine, Cathy and
Julia Pfaff, Elizabeth Bender and
Mary Ellen Schlenker staged a
mock wedding, with an entrance
march played by Mrs. Jim
Peterson, Ailsa Craig. Susan
Pickering read the address,
Susan, Sheila Willert and Karen
Hutchinson helped Barbara to
open the gifts.
Sunday afternoon Barbara and
Charles Jeffery held Open House
for relatives and friends in their
Huron Park home, Elizabeth
Bender, Janice MacDonald and
Sheila Willert displayed the gifts.

Any girl, 12 years old by Sep-
tember 1, interested in taking the
4-H project "The Club Girl
Entertains" is to phone Mrs. Cliff
Kenney at 234-6932 by August 22.
Mr. & Mrs. Peter Martin and
daughters spent two weeks at
Koa Kamp, Ailsa Craig. Each
day Mrs. Martin directed a
children's hour which featured
Bible stories and crafts.
Mrs. Vera Bullock attended the
funeral of her brother-in-law,
John Prance, in Exeter, Thur-
sday.
Paul and Pamela Hendrick,
Wyoming, are holidaying with
Mr. & Mrs. Ed Hendrick, Mr. &
Mrs. Howard Hendrick and Mr. &
Mrs. Lawrence Amos.
Mr. & Mrs. William Schwartz
accompanied Mr. & Mrs. Ted
Insley on a motor trip to Ottawa.
They took a conducted tour of the
city and witnessed the changing
of the guard on Parliament Hill.
Mr. & Mrs. Ed Hendrick
returned home Saturday from a
trip to the West Coast. After
spending several days with Mr. &
Mrs, Mel Lamport on Vancouver
Island they toured through the
mountains, stopping at
Kamloops, Banff, Lake Louise,
Jasper Park, the Columbia Ice
Fields and Calgary.
In the Sunday morning service
at Zion United Church Rev, &
Mrs. Douglas Warren provided
special music in song. Flowers
were from the funeral of William
Gaiser.
