Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. He is the brother of Wally Hem, 439 Main St„
Exeter, Ontario. Private Hem spent 11 weeks at CFB Cornwallis, the
basic training centre for all English speaking recruits. At the end of his
basic training Pte. Hem was awarded the Commandant's Shield for
"Best All Round Recruit". Presenting the award is Col. I. C. Douglas,
Senior Staff Officer of Individual Training, Mobile Command Head-
quarters.

suffers fall

misfortune to fall and break a hip
and is in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London. Mrs. William Scott is in
St. Marys Memorial Hospital.

was the winner of the portable
radio draw sponsored by the
Blanshard Midget Boys Ball
Club, The draw was made at
Kirkton Athletic Field Tuesday
July 9.

Middlesex County Scholarship
was awarded to Susan Hardy for
top marks in the Animal Health
Technology course at Centralia
Agriculture College.
Congratulations are in order
for Susan who will be returning to
Centralia to finish her course in
September.
Reynold Rash lost control of his
bicycle in loose gravel and it took
8 stitches to close the gash below
his knee.
Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Lynn are
coming along very well with their
new home. They are building
north of their present home.
Pee Wee kids took a trouncing
Monday night when Lieury took
over and won easily 28 to 10.
