Couple mark
anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sararas who
celebrated their 25th wedding an-
niversary June 25 were surprised
Sunday afternoon when their
family gathered at their home in
Rensall and presented them with
a coloured TV, and table and a
silver spoon from their grandson,
Chris Sararas.
Their seven children and one
grandchild were present, Karen
of Kitchener; Allan, Barb and
Chris of Preston; Dianne of
Seaforth; Gerry, Don, Steve and
Jodi at home.

THE BEST BIKES — A bicycle decorating contest was just part of the
fun at the Henson Fair on Tuesday. Despite the rain several local
youngsters road their bikes in the p'ciracle. Valerie Baker, 10 won the
prize for the Best decorated bike in the 10 and under class and Becky
Baker, 11 won the prize in the over 10 class.

Mrs. Charlette Balfour, Wind-
S-or,- died Friday, June 21, at the
Metropolitan Hospital, Windsor,
after a lengthy illness. Shewas the
former Charlette (Nellie) Bruce,
daughter of the late David and
Lavina Bruce, Cromarty,
She was an active member of
the Chalmers United Church. She
is survived by two sons, Bruce,
Sault Ste. Marie. and Murray,
Windsor, six grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Mon-
day, June 24, at Windsor. followed
by burial. in Staffa cemetery.
Rev. Bert Daynard conducted the
commital service.
Pallbearers were Angus.
McKaig, Calder McKaig, Bob
Sadler, Fred Harburn, Henry
Harburn and Gordon Parsons.

United Church Notes
'Rev. Don Beck preached on the
sermon topic "Prayer" at the
Sunday service in Hensall United
Church. The choir sang the
anthem under the direction of
Mrs. Turkheim.
The Sunday School had an hour
of fun and games and finally a
treat of ice-cream cones to finish
out the term. Next Sunday and
for the month of July.
Presbyterians from Cannel
Church will be guests of Hensall
United for joint summer ser-
vices.
Amber Lodge
At the closing meeting for the
Amber Rebekah Lodge. the past
Grands were invited to attend the
meeting in Brussels Lodge July 3
at 8 p.m. when Mrs. Joanne
Bridge. the incoming District
Deputy President will be in-
stalled.
The opening meeting in Sep-
tember will be followed by a pot
